Three Stocks to Watch and Market Preview for January 25, 2010

GenVec, Inc. (NASDAQ:GNVC), Pacific Ethanol Inc. (NASDAQEIX), Immunomedics, Inc. (NASDAQMMU) are three stocks to watch as the market appears set for a higher open.

Stocks to Watch

    * GenVec, Inc. (GNVC) – Shares of the biopharmaceutical company moved sharply higher after announcing that data from its esophageal cancer trial was presented at the American Society of Oncology’s 2010 Gastrointestinal Cancer Symposium on January 22nd. The company reported on updated positive efficacy and survival data in 24 patients. Researched presented in the poster also received the ASCO Foundation Merit Award.

    * Pacific Ethanol Inc. (PEIX) – Shares of the ethanol company moved sharply higher in premarket trading amid continued bullishness in the sector. Earlier this month, the company resumed production at its 60M gallon per year Magic Valley facility located in Burley, ID, after it suspended production back in February due to adverse market conditions. However, the company’s subsidiary remains in Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

    * Immunomedics, Inc. (IMMU) – Shares of the biopharmaceutical company moved sharply higher in premarket trading after presenting a new method of treating advanced pancreatic cancer at the seventh annual Gastrointestinal Cancer Symposium. The findings of an ongoing Phase I/II study in previously untreated cancer patients involved a combination therapy consisting of a new antibody developed by the company.

Stock Market Investing Ideas- 1/27/10

Conexant Systems Inc. (CNXT)- Shares of Conexant Systems Inc. continue to climb and the stock isnow at a new 52 week high. A close above $4.50 would be viewed asbullish. I like pullbacks below $3.80.

Dearborn Bancorp Inc. (DEAR)- Shares of Dearborn Bancorp Inc. were on fire again following up fromlast weeks move higher. Resistance is located at $2.38 & $2.50. Thevolume is decent but expect it to pick up if it breaks $2.38.

Pacific Ethanol, Inc. (PEIX)- Pacific Ethanol was up around 3-4% on Tuesday. This is a stock thatif the volume comes back on the upside, we could see another majormove. I plan to buy PEIX on a break above $2.30 and add more on a breakabove $2.65.

SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI)- SIRI broke back up above $0.70 again on Tuesday and could be settingup to test $0.75 again. I would be buying SIRI on another correctionbelow $0.70. A break out will occur if SIRI can break to a new 52 weekhigh located at $0.78.

NexMed Inc. (NEXM) -  NexMed Inc. failed at $0.70 Tuesday but is a stock worth watching.  Resistance is located at $0.70 & $0.78.

Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTIC) - Watching for a break above $1.24 and then I will buy CTIC again.

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD)- AMD broke through It's high of the day on Monday & Tuesday. Ithink the stock is near a bottom but would be selling below $7.50. Longterm resistance remains all the way up at $10.04.

DryShips, Inc. (DRYS)- DRYS fell back below $6 Tuesday morning but is now back over thislevel. Key resistance is located at $6.20. I will be buying the stockon a break above this level.
