Stocks to Watch - 1/6/10 - Stock Market Investing Ideas

Origin Agritech Limited (SEED)- Shares of Origin Agritech Limited were on fire again Tuesday and isone of the hottest stocks right now. A close above $13.19 could set upa retest of the 52 week high of $14.57.

Delta Petroleum Corp. (DPTR)- Delta Petroleum continues to rise at the start of 2010. A break above$1.50 could set up a new break out to $1.75-$2.00. Watch DPTR closely.

SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI)- SIRI is breaking out and is attempting to retest that $0.70resistance level. If SIRI closes above $0.70, I plan to buy the stock.A break above $0.75 at anytime would be very bullish.

Converted Organics Inc (COIN) - Converted Organics received an order from Wal Mart....resistance is located at $0.93 & $1.00.

DryShips, Inc. (DRYS)- The baltic dry index has been up 2 straight days as of Tuesday. DRYSbroke $6.20 and is now a stock to watch going forward. If Drys canbreak back into the $7's, it could be the start of a new uptrend.

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD)- I like AMD as long as it remains above $9. If it falls below $9, Iwill look to buy between $7-$8. Resistance is now located at $10.04.

Stocks are losing their luster today following the bullish start to thenew year yesterday. And, that defensive attitude is largely reflectedwithin our comments and outlooks for Evergreen Energy Inc. (NYSE:EEE).Here's a closer trading look.

An electric utility mayseem a bit unusual for my column, which normally seeks near-termtrading ideas. But, if the shoe fits, wear it. Evergreen Energy Inc. (NYSE:EEE) is indeed setting up as a short-term trading idea with a surprising amount of potential that could - if things go well - turn into a high-octane long-term holding.

Theprompt here is a high-volume rally so far this week... not bad for aday and a half. However, the fact that EEE made the turn as it pushedoff a major support level (at $0.30) carries weight as well. From here,Evergreen Energy Inc. shares should be able to get traction well enoughto make a move back to that resistance line, which is currently at$0.70.

And what about beyond $0.70? Don't rule out abreakout move from Evergreen Energy. You may recall we took a long-termbullish stance on utilities (and electric utilities in particular) back on December 11th.This renewed uptrend from EEE falls in line nicely with that macrostance, which is why we suggest the stock could turn into a longer-termholding - to tap into that bigger trend. Let's burn that bridge when wecome to it though.

Stocks to Watch - 1/7/10 - Stock Market Investing Ideas

Adeona Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (AEN) - Shares of Adeona Pharmaceuticals, Inc. have been rising on no new over the past few days. AEN is one of the hottest penny stocks of 2010 so far. A break above Wednesday's high of $1.20 would be bullish.

China Direct Industries, Inc. (CDII) - CDII continues to surge after the company provided guidance for 2010. I have my eye on the 52 week high of $2.40, a break above that level would be huge.

Sunesis Pharmaceuticals Inc. (SNSS) - Shares of Sunesis Pharmaceuticals Inc. surged back over the 10 day moving average on Wednesday. I'd be a buyer of pullbacks to $1.2o and would be a buyer on a break above $1.62.

Athersys, Inc. (ATHX) - I bought some shares of Athersys, Inc. Wednesday morning after the stock broke up through the high of day during the morning. As I type this, ATHX is surging once again and is showing signs of a trend reversal. I will continue to hold the stock on a break above $4.05. The 10 day moving average is all the way up at $4.60.

Origin Agritech Limited (SEED) - Shares of Origin Agritech Limited shot up to $13.60 Wednesday but then reversed lower. This could signal a short term top for the stock. Still, I continue to have it high on my watchlist.

SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) - Siri began the day above $0.70 but then sold off throughout the morning. Keep an eye on a close above $0.70 during the rest of the week. This would get me back into the stock.
