这位尼泊尔人在为乡村学校筹款,他为学童添校服、文具,又开始种植香蕉,打算把赚到的钱作为学校的基金。我的朋友去年去尼泊尔爬山时认识到他,现在也在帮他募款。
There are at present, around 230 students in the school, ranging in age from kindergarten through grade 8 and 10 teachers. Of those 10 teachers, the community needs to pay for four teacher's salaries (the other six teachers are paid by government subsidies). Right now the community does not have the resources to pay these salaries. Either we have to eliminate a couple of grades at the school or find funds to pay the teacher's salaries. The problem is if we reduce the number of grades and run the school up to grade 5, then those older children from the village have to walk about 2-3 hours to go to school every day. This situation would be very tough for these students. For that reason, we are trying to raise funds to enable us to keep the school as it is now, as well as make improvements in its library. For sustainablility, we are implementing banana farming which can be a profitable income source for the school and we don't have to invest big money for it.
Namaste!
As we mention on our gofundme link we want to do Banana farming to make it school's income source, As we said, we started it! We just planted about 70 banana trees and Hope it will work out well. we are adding more and more slowly! Help us through this gofundme link so we can do more!
