SINGAPORE - More than half of Singapore businesses have staff who are physically present but "mentally absent" from their job.Specialist recruiter Robert Half said 57 per cent of businesses here have experienced what it termed as "inner resignation", which it said is more common in medium-sized and larger companies than in small ones.In a statement on Monday, it said that only 33 per cent of chief financial officers and finance directors say their business is not affected by the phenomenon. Most businesses have strategies to keep workers engaged, it said. Research showed that 67 per cent of businesses use employee appreciation, rewards and recognition to combat inner resignation.
