请各位解释一下利与弊好吗?

Nominee account - Definition

An account in which the named holder holds the assets in it on behalf of another (the beneficiary). In the stock market, the most common use of nominee accounts is where execution-only brokers act as nominees for their clients. The shares are registered in the name of the broker, but the client has beneficial ownership of them. The advantage of nominee accounts is that they make settlement quicker and more streamlined. In theory, dealing costs should be lower. There are some disadvantages: because the individual isn't the registered owner of the shares, he doesn't get sent company reports and accounts, and can't take advantage of shareholder perks, unless his brokers provides a special forwarding service.

利与弊看各人了。。。。。。。

Direct a/c:
- 股票注册在你名下
- 股息支票、年报、voucher、赠品、... 直接由公司寄给你
- 可以直接去股东大会
- 除非跟 remisier 很熟，否则一般人 trading limit 通常少过 50k


Nominee a/c:
- 股票注册在股票行名下
- 通常股票行不喜欢持股超过 5%，所以有时会买不到股，因为 nominee 太多那股票了
- 用 nominee 收股息，自动替你存入银行，但是会被股票行抽水
- 年报要跟股票行拿，有些会 charge 额外费用才寄给你
- voucher、赠品、... 被股票行吃掉
- 要去股东大会，必须跟股票行讲，然后以 proxy 的身份参加
- 通常 trading limit 较高，往往有五、六、七位数。


如果你是长线收股的，建议用 direct a/c，因为:
- 收股息不会被抽水
- 自动收年报和各种小礼
- 直接去参加股东大会

如果你是短线收股的，建议用 nominee a/c，因为:
- trading limit 高比较多空间玩 contra

我补充一下，Nominee A/C 有一个坏处是很多人不懂的，可能是你的经纪忘了告诉你或故意不告诉你。。。

那就是Nominee A/C 不能申请新股上市 (IPO)！

如果有心要申请IPO,可以去申请个Direct Acc..专门来申请IPO
反正现在开acc比买股票还容易

此外，nominee 要 subscribe rights，转换 warrant 等等，都是要通过股票行的，也可能会被抽水。好处是，不用自己填一堆 form 纸。

Form 不用自己填的，拿给经纪填，然后你签名就可以了。。。

当然那个经纪要信得过的啦，不要像那些“睡觉的经纪”，那些连累客户失去SIME Darby 新股转换的。。。

为什么跟不同broker开trading account 就要跟他们个别开cds account? 根broker, 如OSK, Public invest bank, ECM 等, 开的cds account 通常都这些都是 direct cds account 对吧?

一个人不是只能开一个cds account under 自己的名吗? 假设跟个别broker 开direct cds account 那不就一人有都个cds account???? 请赐教。。。
