AirAsiaX (XFA/D7) first aircraft 9M-XAA (A330-300 /msn 054) arrived today from HNL this afternoon.Its currently parked at KLAS Cargo.Next week will be doing route famil and proving flights within AirAsia route structure (PEN/BKI) before going on a few charter flights before finally going on AirAsia X route revenue service.

The first A333 will be named after the late sir freddie laker.

AIRASIAX has rejected suggestions from rival Jetstar that passengers on its new Australian services will be stranded if its only plane breaks down.

The long-haul, low-cost carrier - to start flying to Australia early next month - will begin service with just one leased A330 aircraft flying four times a week to Australia and five times to China, but it's what may come next that has Jetstar paying attention.

Additional aircraft will come on stream over the next five years. The airline has committed to 15 A330-300s, with options on 10, and gets its first two planes next year. It is also looking at extra leased A330s and, possibly, bigger A340s to service Europe.

Jetstar - which has had its own troubles with aircraft problems that have left passengers stranded - has raised questions about AirAsiaX's ability to repatriate Australian travellers if there are problems while it is operating with a single plane.

AirAsiaX chief executive Asran Osman-Rani says the airline has the contingency covered, however, and had an insurance plan to cover costs such as food, accommodation and tickets. "One of the things we will offer is compensation, either inrefunds or getting people on board other flights," he said.

New long-haul low-cost carrier AirAsia X has launched commercial services, with its maiden flight taking off from Kuala Lumpur tonight (2 November) for the Gold Coast in Australia.

The carrier, which is part-owned by Malaysia’s AirAsia Group and Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Group will initially operate four weekly flights on the Kuala Lumpur-Gold Coast route with a used Airbus A330-300 configured with 279 economy and 36 premium economy seats.

In keeping with the budget theme of this flight, I brave the Friday evening traffic jams and jump into an AirAsia bus that costs me 9 ringgit (less than US$3) for the 70 kilometers from town. Seat pitch is 31"... & for new aircraft on order... seat will slide forward instead seat back reclines

這一架on lease的a330大概有340個位子,但是AirAsia自己的A330將會有380++個位子,Y class都是3-3-3 不是現在的2-4-2

其实说便宜也不会便宜很多，当淡季就很便宜。相反的，和其他的没什么分别。
如果真的要便宜，你是第一个或第二个订那航班的就超便宜。
因为AirAsia是看需求来调整它的价钱的。
