The Tremendous Negative Karma of Speech | 口业如山

说话要温和，尽量说悦耳语。恶口骂人、说粗语，会影响他人的心境，让他人生气。


Speak gently and try to adopt euphoric and pleasant words. Using malicious and harsh words against others are offensive which will severely affect their mood.



其罪过有：

第一，这是伤害众生，违反了皈依戒；

第二，这是扰乱他人的心境，违犯了菩萨戒。

第三，让对方生起了嗔恨心，会毁坏他人数劫中积累的善根和福德。


The resultant offences are:

1) it hurts the sentient beings, which is against the refuge precepts;

2) it disrupts others’ state of mind which is against Bodhisattva percepts,

3) it leads to anger and hatred which shall destroy others’ previously accumulated virtuous roots and merits during their past infinite lives.


所以说话一定要注意，没有必要平白无故地伤害他人。


Therefore one must be mindful of his words as there is no apparent reason to hurt others’ feelings.
