A 23-year-old Malaysian man was charged yesterday with stealing a patron's bag from the Marina Bay Sands casino.
The bag contained $900,000 worth of casino chips and other items, which took the total value up to about $911,500.
It was taken from a baccarat table in the casino at about 8.40pm on Sept 2 last year.
In addition to the chips, the black Zegna clutch bag that Jackson Yeoh allegedly took had a BMW car key, driving licence, credit cards, a Samsung mobile phone worth $500 and about $10,000 in cash.
Yeoh was remanded for a week at the Central Police Division.
He was arrested with the help of Malaysian police and was handed over to Singapore on Wednesday, Singapore police said.
