今天早上，朋友就sms来说自己被困在青色线的mrt里。先是说15分钟，最后又说15分钟，结果他迟到了1个小时多。

SMRT says it is still investigating the train fault on Thursday morning that left 17,000 passengers stranded on the East-West line of up to more than an hour.

Among them were two passengers who felt unwell and were sent to Singapore General Hospital.
According to an SCDF spokesperson, a man in his 50s felt giddy and a woman in her 30s experienced breathlessness and chest discomfort.
SCDF received a call at 9.42 am and sent two ambulances to Tiong Bahru MRT station.
Analyst Kelvin Chow, 30, said he was stuck in the tunnel between Redhill and Tiong Bahru for 20 minutes when the driver announced that a passenger was having chest pains.
The driver could not move to the next station as the train in front was still stationary.The driver then asked for medical personal on-board to help the passenger, but directed the medical personal to the wrong cabin initially, he said.
"Finally after another 20 minutes, we moved to Tiong Bahru (where an ambulance was waiting) and managed to get the passenger off," he said.
Noting that SMRT's announcement of a "slight delay" resulted in an a 40-minute wait, Chow suggested SMRT provide more regular updates and advise passengers whether they should seek alternative transport.
A SMRT spokesperson told Yahoo! Singapore, its Operations Control Centre was informed of the passengers who felt unwell and an ambulance (was) activated to be on standby. Station staff also assisted both passengers out of the train once it pulled into the station.
She said an eastbound train was disrupted at 8.49 am due to a train fault. SMRT is investigating the cause.
"To maintain service, some westbound trains were turned around at Queenstown MRT station and some eastbound trains were turned around at Outram Park MRT station."
Eastbound train service resumed at 9.50 am.
Public relations executive Felicia Goh, 24, told Yahoo Singapore she was stuck on the train for over an hour.
"I was initially stuck at Clementi before moving two stops and stalling again at Buona Vista," she said.

Undergraduate Jacqueline Wong, 22, was at Buona Vista station and after waiting for 15 minutes on the train and finding out about the long delay on micro-blogging platform Twitter, got off and took a bus instead.
Her mother was not so lucky. She took one hour and 20 minutes to get from Buona Vista station to Outram Park, reaching work two hours late, said Wong.
Jeremy Foo, 32, an engineer stuck at Outram Park station, added, "I heard trains have been delayed all morning. I've been waiting here for the last 25 minutes and still no train. This is bad."
Another commuter stuck at the Outram MRT station, sales manager Germaine Chia, said what made it worse was that mobile phone reception was poor.
"People have been complaining since I got here. The trains are not running and there' s no reception so we can't call in at work. Thankfully, this seldom happens," said the 27-year-old.

Frustrated commuters also took to Twitter to complain about the crawling train service and warned others to skip the train ride this morning.
@Redha E tweeted, "I think the delay affected a lot of places. Lots of grumpy people at Bugis MRT station when i got down just now."
Passengers who were unable to complete their journeys due to the disruption can file a claim for refund at the Passenger Service Centre in any SMRT station within the next three working day.
SMRT apologises for the inconvenience caused.
On Sunday, a train was delayed at the Ang Mo Kio station after a Thai teenage girl fell onto the tracks and was hit by a train.

在comments中，不乏把SMRT的overcrowded与faulty issue怪在Foreign workers身上。甚至有人把Foregin Trash都拿出来讲。
不理智的人还是一大把啊。
里头也有人劝住大家不要只是complain,也要想想出了complain，自己还能做什么实际的东西（比如move to center part) 这个我举手举脚赞成。。

我也是坐红线上班的，所以没有遇到。
在下雨时，红线sembawang -->yishun,或者是khatib-->Yck的时候也是会一卡一卡，曾经无缘无故被delay 20分钟。也没有一声交待。
这点我就觉得SMRT在staff training以及危机处理上还是没有办法做好。

我想SMRT应该也是这么说。现在要看他们怎么赖。一方面也很期待PAP对这个有什么话说。

乱讲!  我差不多那个时间上地铁, 10:01am了地铁还没动, 赶快拉女儿去搭得士, 结果队排很长, 害我女儿第一天上课就迟到:@

能不能要回被扣的车资

是多到不行啊。尤其是上下班的高峰时段，简直是挤得不成人形。最害怕遇到整个列车厢挤满人可是冷气却热得吓人。

    就是咯! 十年前的新加坡那里会这样, 也是很好住的国家, 现在.........以前, 我很喜欢在星期六或日, 带孩子进来玩或SHOPPING, 现在? 怕到半死!
