1. Chlorine and fluorine are both diatomic gases. One volume of chlorine gas reacts with 3 volume of fluorine gas to yield two volume of product, with all gases measured at the same temperature and pressure. What is the formula for the product?
2. Fungal laccase, a blue protein found in wood-rotting fungi, is approximately 0.39 percent copper. If a laccase molecule contains four copper atoms, what is its approximate molecular mass? |

1.ClF3
3F2 + Cl2 -> 2ClF3
The arrangement of ClF3 is because of the absence of 3d orbital in F.
2.(according to the question)
Fungal laccase contains 0.39% = of copper.
molecular mass of copper is 63.5.
thus the molecular mass of fungal laccase is =
63.5 / (0.39 / 100 ) = 63.5 / 0.0039 = 16282.051. |
