MELROSE PARK, Ill., May 15, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
Midwest Banc Holdings, Inc. (the "Company" (NASDAQ:MBHI), the holding
      company for Midwest Bank and Trust Company (the "Bank", announced today
      that the Bank has been closed by the Illinois Division of Banking and
      placed into receivership by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
      The Company's ownership interest in the Bank represented substantially
      all of the Company's assets. As a result of the Bank's receivership, the
      Company no longer has an investment in the Bank.
Effective May 17, 2010, the Midwest Banc Holdings, Inc.'s mailing
      address will be changed to P.O. Box 1547, Melrose Park, Illinois, 60161.
