MUET Requirements for Jun 2009 Intake Students to Beta

Dear Students,

Kindly take note that starting from June 2010 intake, all degree level students are required to achieve Band 3 in MUET to be enrolled in MMU.

For June 2009 intake, students enrolling into the degree programme without Band 3 (for both ex-Foundation and Direct entry students) were given provisional offer to enter the degree programme provided that they obtain MUET Band 3 within the first year of their degree programme, failing which their status will be terminated.

Students who have not fulfilled the above requirement are advised to register for the next May 2010 MUET exam.

我是08年foundation的，现在是beta year 3rd sem，我打算在gamma year才拿muet，请问可以的吗？

之前我去Admin问过，好像是从09 june开始，一定要在beta完成前
拿muet而且要band 3才可以继续gamma>.....
不过我觉得你还是去ADmin问清楚

Please be informed that first year students which are from June 2009/2010 intake ,
you must get MUET Band 3 within first year of your programme, failing which your status will be terminated.

MUET Band 3 Requirement from from June 2009/2010 Intake onwards

Dear Students,

Kindly take note that starting from June 2010 intake, all degree level students are required to achieve Band 3 in MUET to be enrolled in MMU.

For the June 2009 intake, students enrolling into the degree programme without Band 3 will be given a provisional offer to enter the degree programme provided that they obtain MUET Band 3 within the first year of their degree programme, failing which their status will be terminated. June 2010 students will be required to have MUET Band 3 upon enrolment.

Dear all,

Greetings!

Below is a summary from Mr. Desmond Kho, Special Assistant (Vice President (Academic)'s Office) regarding the MUET requirement in MMU.

Before June 2009 Intake, MUET is one of the GRADUATION requirements (must have this before a student can graduate). Starting from June 2009 Intake, MUET is one of the ENTRY requirements (must have this before a student can enter to Degree Programme).

For the graduation requirement, the graduating students before Trimester 1, 2008/2009 Session, they are still applied to the minimum of Band 3 as one of the graduation requirements. However, for graduating students after Trimester 1, 2008/2009 Session, the minimum requirement of MUET for graduation is Band 1.

Hence, for the current students in degree programme excluding those entered in June 2009 Intake onwards, the minimum requirement of MUET (as graduation requirement) is Band 1.

For June 2009 Intake onwards, the minimum requirement of MUET (as entry requirement) is Band 3.

During the transition time, the students of June 2009 intake (including October 2009 Intake and January 2010 Intake) who enrolled into the degree programme without Band 3 or above will be given a provisional offer to enter the degree programme provided that they obtain MUET Band 3 or above within the first year of their degree programme, failing which their status will be terminated.

For MMU FOSEE students of June 2009 Intake (including October 2009 Intake and January 2010 Intake) who will enter their degree programme in 2010, students without Band 3 or above at the end of their FOSEE programme will be given a provisional offer to enter the degree programme provided that they obtain MUET Band 3 or above within the first year of their degree programme, failing which their status will be terminated.

Mr. Desmond Kho, Special Assistant (Vice President (Academic)'s Office) already raised up few issues related to MUET requirement to VPA, Dr. Wong:
1. MUET Requirement Is NOT Specified in Offer Letter
2. Availability of MUET Examination and Release of Result
3. Wrong Information Provided by ERU
4. Wrong Message on MUET Result by ICEMS

We would like to ask students to please be patient as some of the issues are still in discussion.
