Beware of Phishing Email (utar)

Dear all,

Please be informed that if you receive the following email that claims to
be from UTAR web technical support team, asking for your password to reset
your email address, DO NOT respond to the email: this is a phishing scam.

ICT Centre does not conduct any webmail maintenance and will NEVER
initiate a request for sensitive information such as user name & password
from user via email.

Tips to recognize the phishing email:

1. email not sent from utar original domain e.g. online.webmail1@gmail.com

2. email requests for your personal information e.g. username, password
etc. or email that leads you to a fake website that requires you to enter
personal information.

3. The email message conveys a sense of urgency so that you will respond
immediately without thinking.
