1。请问为什么 opening inventory overstated 会使到 Opening retained profit overstated???

2。如果 closing inventory understated, 又为什么会使到 opening retained profit understated???

以我的概念，我能理解第二个，但是第一的我想不通，想通了有和第二的概念有冲突。。。各位高手，请教教我。。。。谢谢！！！

因为也许你今年才 under/overstate 的

对不起，没有讲清楚 ， 是前一年的closing inventory...
For no.2.

When the accounts of R Bhd were being fnalised for the year 4 it was discovered that the closing inventory for year 3 was understated by RM500,000. The retained profit brought forward was RM3,000,000. Tax rate 30%。

As the closing inventory was understated in year 3, the net profit for year 3 would have been understated by RM500,000 (before deducting tax). Tax effect is an increase in tax expenses of RM150,000 (ie. 30% on RM500,000). The overall effect is that the retained profit brought foward will ncrease by RM350,000.

这个我可以理解。。。不能理解第一个。。。可以解释给我听吗？？？

第一题
This yr Opening is last yr Closing stk is link to this yr Opening Retained profit  (mean last yr profit figure)

Said : Opening Stk + Purchases - Closing Stk = Cost of sales   30+20-15 = 35

if Opening stk sld be 25 instd of 30 (over stated 5) = COS sld be = 30

Said Revenue100 - COS = 35=Profit 65 ( sld - 30 profit = 70 )

哇。。你很久没有读书了还能记得啊。。。很厉害哦。。。
你的例子是说会影响current year's profit.  我现在的理解。。。去年的closing stock 影响 今年的 opening retained profit,  opening stock 影响 Cost of sales. 然后再statement of changes in equity 算出 Ending retained profit. 如果我没有再错的话。。。

我在回复龟龟龟的时候想通了。。因为他的问题让我把年份看清楚。。。都不懂最近做什么。。。要看很多次才看清楚。。。才想通。。。

hi, 我之前理解错误。其实是去年的closing stock overstated, 所以 opening retained profit overstated。而去年的closing stock  就是今年的 opening stock。
