『金吊桶』
在清朝時，福建一帶，曾經出現一位極為有名的命相老師，叫『金吊桶』，這不是他的名字，而是像金合堂之類的門派別號。為什麼會叫『金吊桶』，聽說這位命理師，一向深入簡出，住在樓上，他看命不看人，只將一個桶子吊到樓下，來問津的人，便會將他的生辰八字和算命所需的『緣金』放入桶內，這位老師再將批示的內容交還對方。

Roti Benggali goes very well with local coffee. It's white bread, freshly baked daily and sent out to most coffeeshops around Georgetown. Roti Benggali actually derived its name from the word ,' Penggali' which means 'shareholders' in tamil. Sheik Mohd Ismail an Indian Muslim came over from Madras, India in 1932 to pursue his livelihood in this new land of opportunities. As soon as he settled down in Georgetown, he set up a business with his group of friends and called the co-op - 'roti penggali'. Local residents mistook the name to be 'Roti Benggali' and has been called such since. In 1964, the bakery was renamed 'Ismalia Bakery' from 'Penggalis' and is now run by Vanisay Mohd - the founder's grandson.

Bread delivery man

For as little as RM1.20, you can get a gigantic loaf of freshly baked Roti Benggali at Ismalia Bakery. However, if you ever do get to see the travelling breadman, a sort of bakery on wheels, going on their evening route round the older neighbourhood, do stop him. He usually sells Roti Benggali and if you wish, he'd whip out his slicing board, cut a few slices for you and even spread a thick layer of the delicious coconut jam and margarine for you to take with you.

The Group had its beginnings in 1965, with a company named Keat Radio & Electrical Co., a sole proprietor business, which was a retailer for electrical appliance at Balik Pulau, Penang. As business improved, another shop was set up at 143- 145, Perak Road, 10150 Penang, which was previously the Head Office for Keat Radio Co. Sdn Bhd. (KRC). In 1976, Keat Radio & Electrical Co. went into import, export and wholesaling of electronic and electrical house hold appliances such as audio and visual items like portable radio cassette, transistor radios, black and white televisions etc. The sole proprietor business was subsequently incorporated into a private limited company in 1977 under the name of Keat Radio Co. Sdn Bhd.

Then in 1982, Pensonic Sales & Service Sdn. Bhd. was set up with various branches throughout the country to accommodate the increase in business. As business improved and progressed, the company started to import all types of audio and visual products from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and marketed them under the “PENSONIC” brand name. It was later then registered under the trademark no. 84/01379 up 1984. In 1988, PENSONIC started to manufacture and assemble its own products under the brand, "ENSONIC".

金吊桶现在依然还存在 ..... 我前两三个月才去给他算孩子的名字
至于钟金泉是个老字号, 不只是豆蔻而已, 他还有很多土产都很出名, 所以应该放"钟金泉", 而不是"钟金泉豆蔻"

很可惜的事，早期Cold Storage的帝国早已在槟城没落消失掉了。

Up till the early eighties, the northern seaward portion of Penang Road was better known to folks as the place to get some of the best bakery in town.
The section of the road was home to Cold Storage, a food and pastry store with a distinctive signboard.

The store is no longer around, but its engraved name still remains on the old building, now shabby and discoloured. Today, the rather dilapidated building, lodged under the shadows of several modern high-rise structures, houses an Indian Muslim hawker has scrawled its front wall in paint with the unlikely name 'Hameed
Sup'

All around the building, Penang Road looks a stellar leap away from the bakery and sundry environment of decades ago...........

但至少也识别到一些历史，感恩资料提供者。
因为暂时一下子很难找到五十年以上的道地创办的老字号，所以朋友说可以暂用四十年以上的字号。

终于在别的论坛找到一些关于伍记饼家的资料

Ng Kee Cake Shop (伍记饼家)

掌管伍记的羅文隆，是饼家第二代传人，他在爸爸那個年代開始，已跟著老爸到國內外糕饼厂观摩考察，增进制饼技術。不过，所有糕饼的传统原味，店面陳設卻50年不變。
伍記最得意的產品是咸切酥（Ham Chit Soo)，这个也叫胡椒饼的饼乾，主要以胡椒、南乳和面粉製成，薄薄一片，口感香脆，很多檳城人喜欢把它当手信，让宾客在淡汶饼之外多一種选择。



"咸切酥的机器切刀是十幾年前我們專程到日本訂造的。這饼不容易做，工人要有一双強而有力的手，因為部份材料要用手以器具輾，還好我們有机器切刀切饼。爸爸那个年代用人手切饼，每次只能切很少。"
羅文隆强调，中式传统饼家和一般饼家不同。他們注重新鮮和原味，工作時間和准备步骤特長，受薪工人都会觉得這是苦差，所以它需要家族成員分擔工作。"人手刚刚好，我們不管身体多累都要撑著，不可病倒。沒人工作，糕饼就不能出門。"
伍記每日制十几种糕饼，最受欢迎的是咸切酥（Ham Chit Soo）、椰子塔、蛋塔及鸡蛋糕。喜欢這些传统糕饼的主要是北馬各地顾客，以及一些來自新加坡和印尼的訪客。
除了鹹切酥，黄澄澄的伍記蛋塔也是must buy之一。蛋塔以曲奇饼皮做塔皮，入口鬆軟，富有蛋香。嗼囉酥也很特別，那名字和味道，非常古早，喜欢怀旧的人一定爱吃它。

"豆油"老字号双驼商标酱油也应该算是槟城人厨房里不可少的配料在之一。

- -现卖寶麗鴨肉粿條湯出名的，很好吃 –常常吃，茶室老板人很好。。
儿童世界书店局 – 小时在那儿看老夫子。。。。
联合书局，东南亚店局 ，福联成棺材店。。。森公司
