06-11-2007: Public Bank named Malaysia’s best bank for 9th time by Euromoney
KUALA LUMPUR: Public Bank Bhd (PBB) has been named Best Bank in Malaysia 2007 for the ninth time by Euromoney, an international financial publication based in the United Kingdom.
In a statement yesterday, Public Bank said the award was presented by Euromoney Asia managing editor Lawrence White at a presentation ceremony in Subang on Saturday to the bank’s founder and chairman Tan Sri Dr Teh Hong Piow.
“Euromoney’s awards for excellence are designed not to reward the biggest financial institutions or those that simply make the most money, but to commend those that demonstrate innovation, professionalism and integrity in the course of their endeavours.
“We look very closely at impressive numbers and in fiscal 2006 there were many to choose from when looking at Public Bank. It was another record year for the bank... and Public Bank was comfortably Malaysia’s best bank.”
Teh said: “The awards and recognitions accorded Public Bank through the years are confirmation of the bank’s commitment to deliver only the best to the community and to our stakeholders.
“Each and every award is the triumph of every individual in the bank. It is through their tireless efforts that Public Bank has achieved its respected stature today in the Malaysian banking industry.”
