Urgent Game Client Patch and Server Maintenance on 13/01/2011
Dear Maplers,
Please be informed that we will be having a Urgent Game Client Patch to v0.99 and Server Maintenance on 13th January 2011 from 0300hrs - 0800hrs (+8 GMT)
Game Service will be down during this period of time. Please logout before this period of time to prevent any game disruption.
The additional patch is required to fix disconnection issues that happened on 12th January 2011.
Reimbursement
All existing time based cash items will have their expiry date extend for 1 day (24 hours) more due to service downtime caused by multiple patch and server checks when game service resumed after the patch.

Please kindly take note to only start doing the manual patching after 13th January 2011, 0300hrs (+8 GMT) so as not to interrupt your game play before the Game Client Patch.
Instructions
1. After downloading the manual patch file, double-click on the patcher -> Select the folder where the game is installed.
2. For most users, the default folder is c:\program files\wizet\maplestory.
3. *If you receive an error (canvas.dll is corrupt), please download the new client.
4. *If you receive an error (maplestory.exe not found), please select the correct folder.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, Ace of Hearts is back to spread his love with everyone again!
Ace of Hearts
Gather all the essential ingredients as required by Ace of Heart to make a Heart Chocolate which contains a very special spell that works the same way as a safety charm.
With it you won’t lose any EXP when dying in the middle of the battle. It will be used up when you die or goes bad in 3 days. So make sure you put it to good use!
- Minimum level requirement for this event is level 8.
- Quest is repeatable from NPC Ace of Hearts every 1 hour.
That’s not all! Ace of Hearts is also able to enhance Heart Chocolate into a Chocolate Basket that will extend it’s magical powers for another 5 days!
But take note he is only able to enhance Heart Chocolate into a Chocolate Basket ONCE.
2. [System Event] Cupid’s Lost Arrows
(Event Period: 7/02/2011, 0000hrs – 06/03/2011, 2359hrs)
Cupid lost his arrows during Valentines’ Day! Look for NPC Cassandra to start the quest to gather Cupid’s lost arrows to save Valentines’ Day!
- Minimum level requirement for this event is level 8.
- Quest is repeatable from NPC Cassandra every 2 hours.
- Reward of Cupid Wings Cape will given once when you completed the quest for the first time.
- Subsequent rewards will be EXP base on character’s level.
3. [System Event] Valentine Roses Drop
(Event Period: 7/02/2011, 0000hrs – 06/03/2011, 2359hrs)
   
4 Valentine Roses are scattered around MapleSEA! Party up with your loved one and start hunting for it!
4. [System Event] Rock,Paper,Scissor!
(Event Period: 14/02/2011, 0000hrs – 13/03/2011, 2359hrs)
Approach NPC Rock, Paper, and Scissor Admin and challenge her to rounds of Rock, Paper and Scissor will allow you to obtain certificate of your win.
Collect certificates from 1 to 10 wins and exchange items with NPC Event Assistants, Jean or Paul for wonderful rewards!
5. [Gachapon] Valentine’s Day Chairs!
(Event Period: 9/02/2011, after server check – 23/02/2011, before server check)
Visit a Gachapon machine near you and try your luck to get hold of one of these three special items exclusively available on Valentine’s Day!

What is Golden Temple?
The monsters inside Golden Temple offer more EXP and item drops than any other maps available! What’s more, there is a powerful boss for you to conquer! It will drop rare items, especially the Ravana Helmet!
How can I get to Golden Temple?
YOu can go to Golden Temple via Mirror of Dimension starting from 9th March 2011!
Golden Ticket is needed to go into the maps! Where can I get them?
A. Find Cassandra and complete the quest “Attracting Tourists to the Golden Temple” (Non-Repeatable)
B. Find PR Manager Mr. Yoo and complete the quest “Recycled Golden Ticket” (Repeatable once a day)
C. Purchase Golden Temple Invitation from Cash Shop and double click it. It will change to Premium Golden Ticket.
I am ready to challenge the Ravana Boss!
5 Sunburst and a party of minimum 2 players are required to enter the boss map.
To collect sunburst, you are required to eliminate the monsters in the Monkey Temples and Goblin Caves of the Golden Temple.
Difficulty of the Ravana Boss will be adjusted automatically according to the average level of the party members. According to the difficulty, various equipments, pieces of time, Ravana Helmet will be dropped.

Custom-made Quests to Help You Level Up
Love Party Quest (PQ)? Check out how we are going to enhance your party quests experiences!
Quests will be re-balanced and the rewards will be modified to enhance character growth.
With changes done to the map, and adjustments done to the monster levels, level requirements for quests will be adjusted as well.
Easier PQ! You can now use the Dimensional Mirror in each town to enter into the PQ entrance map directly.
The number of participants and required level will be changed for some of the existing PQs.
It is now easier to see the PQ information in the new PQ tab of the quest window.
PQ-goers now get to choose their individual rewards when the boss mob is eliminated in PQ.
Do not worry Maplers, if the quest was in progress before the Big Bang update and if the required level changes after the update. Your quest will revert back to new status from in progress status.
After the update, you’ll be able to replay the quests that have changes to the required level despite having completed them before.
► OVERALL EXP RE-BALANCING!
Once again, character leveling EXP will be re-balance since 2009 with the launch of Episode 3!
Overall level-up EXPs will be decreased for all classes, making leveling up easier and faster.
Levels 10 to 30 : 54% decrease in EXP required!

Levels 31 to 70 : 70% overall decrease in EXP required!

For this second update, we will announce the following finalized patch dates for all 3 phases of Big Bang and other related in-game features.

1. Date of Release for ALL Big Bang Updates!
As most of the Maplers are aware, there will be 3 phases for Big Bang updates and are dying to know all the dates. We will be revealing all the release dates now!
To minimize hassles that Maplers might encountered during several client patching, only 2 client patch will be required instead of 3!
Big Bang 1 – Start of a New World! (Game Client Patch on 18th May 2011)
Big Bang is all set to rock the MapleSEA world with its revolutionary changes.
Like the birth of a new star, this will be an update that changes almost everything!
There will be huge changes: maps, monsters, quests, skills, EXP equation, damage equation, job balancing, resolution, UI, EVERYTHING will be different!
Big Bang 2 – Rise of the Resistance! (Server Check / Update on 25th May 2011)
Rebel Army of Edelstein!
They are the rebellion against the Black Wings and they will free their town at all cost!
Edelstein is now the home of the Black Wings, a secret cult dedicated to the resurrection of the Black Mage.
They recently came out of hiding and took over Edelstein, oppressing the citizens of Edelstein into silence while working hard to resurrect their evil lord.
What will you see in this update?
New Classes!
Join the Resistance in their struggle for freedom!
Join as a Battle Mage or Wild Hunter, by far the most versatile character classes in MapleSEA which will bring an exciting new way to game play and challenge for players looking for their next heroic experience!
One who use his staff to beat back the Black Wings and will be the first into rush into danger, placing himself between his teammates and the forces of darkness!
The other is an expert markswoman, will race to the front line of battle on her loyal Jaguar and shoot down her enemies with deadly accuracy!
New Maps!
Discover Edelstein, the home of the Black Mage! Battle the Black Wings and help destroy the infamous cult that swore to resurrect him!
New Stories!
The Black Mage, the greatest evil in MapleSEA has returned! You must confront the Black Mage’s minions as you struggle to save the world in all new storyline!
Big Bang 3 – Arrival of Resistance Support – Mechanics! (Game Client Patch on 6th July 2011)
Who are the Mechanics?
The final piece of the 3 new classes that will be featured in Big Bang.
The Mechanics are ordinary citizens of Edelstein who will answer the call for greatness.
Lacking the talent for magic of Battle Mages or the skill with crossbow and jaguar of the Wild Hunters, the Mechanics must draw on their ingenuity and use their gifts with technology to bolster the ranks of the Resistance!
They will join the Wild Hunters and the Battle Mages and free their home from the forces of darkness!
The Mechanic is a well-balanced class that offers fun and challenge for new players and experienced Maplers as well.
2. Removal of White Scroll and other Features Permanently
Due to the changes on the system after Big Bang, the following features will be removed permanently due to incompatibility issues with the new system.
• Consumable Item – White Scroll
• Quick Delivery System and NPC Duey
• Fortune Ticket System and NPC Yaibu
Notes
• Maplers having White Scroll in their inventories are advised to used them before 17th May 2011. All unused White Scroll will not be reimbursed.
• Maplers having the following cash items of Fortune Ticket and Quick Delivery Ticket are advised to used them before 17th May 2011.
• All unused Fortune Ticket and Quick Delivery Ticket will not be reimbursed.
• Consumable in-game items, Fortune No.0 to No.7 will not be removed after Big Bang Patch.
3. Change in Various In-Game Systems and Contents!
We will touch on a few changes that will happen after Big Bang in this section.
Removal of Ariant Coliseum (Competitive Content)
As the response for this competitive content (for level 20 to 30) is not well received by Maplers, this content will be removed during Big Bang.
Do not worry as there are plenty of other contents and party quests which will be retain with level restriction removed!
