米高梅電影公司標志

　　美國好萊塢著名電影公司米高梅由于無力償還巨額債務和推出新作，于3日早晨宣布破產。

　　此前，億萬富翁和著名企業投資家卡爾‧伊坎曾購買了米高梅20%的債務，並且致力于推動該公司與自己控股的獅門影業公司合並。近日，米高梅債權人與伊坎達成協議，伊坎放棄了合並計劃，同意由其實施預組破產方案。

　　預計米高梅會在一兩個月內脫離破產保護，屆時將由望遠鏡娛樂公司的共同創始人加里‧巴伯和羅杰‧伯恩鮑姆擔任米高梅聯合首席執行長。

　　米高梅10月29日宣布，在持有該公司近40億美元債務的債權人中，至少約三分之二的債權人和逾半數的個人債權人投票批準該預組破產計劃，贊成票數已滿足法庭批準破產重組計劃所需的最低票數，重組存在的票數障礙已基本掃清。米高梅是好萊塢一家有著86年輝煌歷史老牌電影公司，推出過包括《亂世佳人》在內的一大批經典影片，並先後200次在奧斯卡金像獎頒獎儀式上折桂。近年來，由于一直沒有推出成功的影片，加上積欠了40億美元的債務，米高梅的前景十分慘淡。

Explosion Heard as Plane Flies Over Indonesia

JAKARTA, Indonesia—Police and witnesses say they heard an explosion as a commercial airliner was flying over western Indonesia and found debris from the plane scattered near a shopping mall.

Police Col. Eka Yudha told TVOne the plane was a Qantas Airbus, which was flying from Singapore to Australia when it had to dump fuel.

He was quoted as telling the station it had made an emergency landing, but later told the Associated Press the jetliner was apparently still circling the sky.

The report could not be independently confirmed.

Large pieces of debris including panels painted white and red were found on the Indonesian island of Batam, where witnesses reported hearing the loud bang early Thursday.

SYDNEY (Dow Jones)--Qantas Airways Ltd.(QAN) Thursday said a Rolls Royce Group PLC (RR.LN) engine failed on oneof its Airbus A380 super jumbos, in one of the first major commercial technicalproblems to hit the landmark European aircraft since it first came intoservice.

The plane, flight QF32, which has sincelanded in Singapore, shut down an engine after developing technical problemsheading to Sydney, Australia, a spokesperson said, adding that the flightwas carrying 433 passengers and 26 crew.

"All passengers are off safely,"said the spokesperson.

Qantas is a major customer for the 450-passengercapacity plane that European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co.'s (EAD.FR)Airbus unit hopes will tranform the commercial plane industry and giveit an advantage over rival Boeing Co. (BA) and its ageing 747. The A380is also operated by Singapore Airlines Ltd. (SINGY), Emirates, Air France-KLM(AF.FR) and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (LHA.XE).

According to the Qantas website, flightQF32 was equipped with four Rolls-Royce Trent class engines.

"We will work with Qantas to identifywhat the problem is," a spokesman for the U.K.-based engine makertold Dow Jones Newswires.

A spokesman for Airbus declined to commenton the incident when called. The France, Toulouse-based planemaker has234 orders for the A380, according to its website.

"The A380 is operating very well,"said the Airbus spokesman.

Qantas has taken delivery of six ofits 20 Airbus A380-800 aircraft, according to the company's website. Thecompany operates the plane on schedule services to Sydney, Melbourne, LosAngeles, Singapore and London.

The A380 represents "the second-largestA380 order of any airline in the world," Qantas website states.

    当然有看啦..MGM是除了LVS以外另一个股票我希望买回的..但由于价格太高,所以一直希望它会掉回九块以下才进货..但问题是,之前听说它要撤离NYSE的...?也有点担心...
