Joe Cole is set to reject an offer from Liverpool to stay in London with either Tottenham or Arsenal. The Gunners are understood to be favourites after offering a reported £115,000-a-week to the former Chelsea midfielder.

Cole, who only started fourteen Premier League games for Chelsea last season, has been released on a free transfer by the London club.
Roy Hodgson was understood to be forming an deal to bring the England midfielder to Merseyside, though Cole is now likely to reject the offer in an attempt to stay in London.
Spurs are set to battle it out with rivals Arsenal in a race to sign the midfielder, and Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe is certainly keen to have Cole on side, telling Sky Sports News: 'When we were in South Africa (you could see) every day his passion and his drive to want to improve,
'In training he was sharp and he was strong, he just loves football - that's Joe. So if we could get someone like that at the club it would be good for everyone.'
Favourites Arsenal are also in for Mario Balotelli after Inter Milan rejected Manchester City’s approach for the striker. |
