Bank Rakyat to lend RM50m to SMEs

BANK Rakyat Malaysia Bhd will allocate more than RM50 million in loans to small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs), backed by Credit Guarantee Corp Malaysia Bhd (CGC), from this year to 2010.

For this year, the bank aims to disburse between RM5 million and RM10 million in such loans, said Bank Rakyat’s managing director Datuk Kamaruzaman Che Mat.

“We hope with the guarantee from CGC, we will be able to provide more loans to SMEs,” he told reporters after signing a memorandum of understanding with CGC today.

Kamaruzaman said the collaboration with CGC would provide guarantee cover of between 60 and 70 per cent for the bank’s selected financing products, which was in line with the government’s call to provide financing to entrepreneurs with adequate collaterals.

Based on the bank’s normal procedures, applications from those without collaterals or just starting their businesses and without audited accounts are rejected because they are regarded as high risks, he said.

“Now we open up our capability to lend to SMEs after eliminating the collateral and guarantee issues,” he added.

Kamaruzaman said as a start, Bank Rakyat would establish an Islamic banking guarantee scheme to provide financing to SMEs for their working capital and asset purchases.

The CGC guarantee covers all applications from SMEs except those for investment funding, speculative transactions, companies with a paid-up capital of RM2, and businesses against Syariah principles.

Datuk Wan Azhar Wan Ahmad, managing director of CGC, said it aims to cumulatively guaranteed RM4.0 billion in 2007, and the amount had reached RM2.5 billion as at June this year. — Bernama

之前曾经排名大马十大富豪之一，后来丹斯里钟廷森上位而被挤出10大之位。

Azman Hashim的身家绝对不止排＃１１，因为还有一大堆"算不到"的。如果说Mahathir有Daim,Azman Hashim就是Pak Lah的Daim了，Daim也从来没进过这些什么top 10/100名单，但通街的人都知道是什么回事。

有意擴展大馬業務
通用電器洽購金融基建公司

■貝加利法爾科：如果條件惠及各方，通用電器國際不排除收購本地金融機構股權，但發展潛能龐大的基建公司依然是公司首選。(放大)
（吉隆坡訊）通用電器旗下的通用電器國際（GE International）正洽購大馬金融機構及基建公司股權，以擴大旗下的大馬業務，但拒絕透露洽談對象及詳情。

另外，詢及該公司是否有意將旗下業務在馬股進行上市時，通用電器表示無意進行相關活動。

該公司主席兼首席執行員貝加利法爾科在媒體匯報會上指出，通用一直對大馬的金融業務有興趣，一旦機會恰當，該公司不排除收購本地金融機構股權，並透露一直接洽本地金融機構，但沒有宣佈洽談對象。

該公司計劃在大馬推介消費銀行服務。

同時，他表示，發展潛能龐大的大馬基建公司將是該公司的收購首選。

“我們是本地業者的友好夥伴，而很多本地業者也樂於與我們洽談併購，因此洽談工作一直都在進行中，但這屬於全球性，並非侷限在大馬。”

看好石油與天然氣領域

不過，他拒絕透露有關洽談工作的對象及進展，只透露收購活動為該公司的擴展策略之一，因此該公司將與任何方面進行洽談。

他說，全球基建領域持續發熱，而大馬在這方面也擁有優異表現，當中以石油與天然氣領域最受看好，無論是上、中或下游業務的發展潛能都非常優秀。

他透露，在基建工程持續活躍及新工程陸續頒發下，大馬石油與天然氣領域發展看俏，但油價起伏將左右相關發展進度。

通用電器國際涉及的基建領域包括水務、能源、航空、交通及建築。

計劃擴展梳邦生產設施

另外，貝加利法爾科表示，該公司計劃擴展位於梳邦的生產設施，以增加另外25%產能，目前的產能為按年150架。然而，他拒絕透露所涉及投資款項，只表示整個計劃預期於明年完成。

大馬業務營業額料達20.4億

他預計今年的大馬業務營業額料達6億美元（約20億4670令吉），去年則為5億6700萬美元（約19億3413萬令吉）。

中印為主要推動者
預期美以外市場貢獻60%

通用電器國際預期美國以外市場能在5年內貢獻60%營業額，而中國及印度為主要推動者。美國以外市場目前貢獻該公司50%營業額。

貝加利法爾科說，中國及印度的經濟增長步伐較美國高出4倍之多，因此在新興市場持續增加的營業額帶動下，該公司寄望能夠維持未來3至5年內的銷售及盈利增長。

該公司也曾表示在出口至新興市場的電子及其他產品增加下，美國以外市場的營業額貢獻將在今年第一次超越美國市場。

他說:“我們非常看重新興市場，因為這是成長所在。”

看重新興市場

他指出，去年該公司在印度、中國、東南亞、中東、非洲及拉丁美洲的新興市場的總銷售額達300億美元（約 1023億3500萬令吉），並預計在2010年增至500億美元（約1705億5800萬令吉）。印度上半年的營業額增長更高達144%。

該公司也預計新興市場在2012年的銷售及盈利能取得40%增長率，並寄望中國市場今年的銷售將接近60億美元（約204億6702萬令吉）。

該公司之前曾透露，希望攫取中國2008年奧運基建計劃約6億5000萬至8億美元工程，而中東收入在2010年可達致100億美元。

東南亞於2006年取得30億美元（約102億3351萬令吉）營業額，當中18至20%來自大馬，東南亞區域的按年增長率達20%，單是今年上半年就取得30%營業額增長。 （星洲日報/財經•2007.07.24）
