This week’s release features Prophet an amazing soldier going head to head with alien invaders. The video features how the nanosuit cybernetically fuses with the wearer’s nervous system. End result? One lean, mean, fighting machine. The video shows a group of soldiers sent to an island infested with alien invaders to test out the nanosuits effects on their bodies. The narrator is Prophet, the leader of the test battalion of soldiers.
Increasingly bitter and angry, Prophet discovers the heartless and cold calculation used by the nanosuit’s designer, Hargraves. The nanosuit turned ordinary soldiers into supersoldiers–increased strength, massive firepower, invisbility, and other abilities. Unfortunately, the nanosuit fusing process was not a voluntary situation for many of the soldiers. Nor was the nanosuit fusion reversible. Prophet walks away in anger from the program only to come back and realize Hargraves was right all along. In the war against the aliens, “necessary sacrifices” had to be made. Amazing video and attention to detail. This video does a good job of framing the back story behind Crysis 2. EA is going all out in fully fleshing out the back story and overall suspense for the release of what would otherwise be dismissed as yet further grist in the first person shooter mill.
