Lin Yun Ling has pledged to retain his remaining 34.7 million shares, or 1.73 per cent of the firm, for at least 18 months, Gamuda says

THE managing director of Malaysian builder Gamuda Bhd has sold 70 million shares in the company, cutting his stake to 1.7 per cent from 5.2 per cent.

Lin Yun Ling sold the shares through Credit Suisse for “estate-planning purposes” and remained very optimistic about Gamuda’s prospects, the firm said in a statement.

Lin pledged to retain his remaining 34.7 million shares, or 1.73 per cent of the firm, for at least 18 months, Gamuda said.

“I continue to be very optimistic about the prospects of Gamuda,” Lin said in the statement. “I intend to remain in my present management position for the foreseeable future.”

Gamuda shares posted its steepest decline in a month on Bursa Malaysia on the news. The stock fell 7.6 per cent to RM4.60 as of 10:27 am.

The “stake reduction is a little bit drastic,” said Scott Lim, who helps manage US$400 million at CMS Dresdner Asset Management in Kuala Lumpur.

Gamuda shares surged last year as the company and a partner won a RM12.5 billion railway contract, the biggest of its kind in Malaysia, and profit jumped. - Reuters, Bloomberg

其董事總經理拿督林雲 ...

股权從5.2% 下到1.7%.... 一定有问題.
