高架道开幕 酒店 回教大厦动土 首相今日忙碌访晋

        （本报古晋12日讯）我国首相拿督斯里阿都拉巴达威将于明早莅临古晋，分别为Global Upline有限公司所发展的两项大型计划主持开幕与动土礼。这两项巨型计划是耗资1亿2000万令吉的BDC高架道及耗费约1亿令吉的FOUR POINTS by SHERATON 12层楼四星级酒店。

        首相今日抵达美里为最近刚完成的埔奕高架道主持开幕礼。他将在明早约10时抵达古晋国际机场，并大约在早上10时45分为BDC高架道主持开幕礼，之后将会为FOUR POINTS by SHERATON四星级酒店主持动土礼，并见证Global Upline有限公司与Starwood Asia Pacific Hotels and Resorts

见证签署备忘录

        该12层楼建筑共建有两栋大厦，即酒店大厦与办公楼。此酒店的位址就处于该高架道毗邻，共设有360间客房，可望在明年8月之前峻工并投入服务。

        BDC高架道是于今年5月10日正式全面通车。该大道全长4.5公里，连贯晋连路、机场路、敦朱加路及BDC。有关工程提前约一年时间完工，使到古晋人民长久期望在BDC交通圈兴建高架道的梦想已经落实成真。道路使用者在该地区经常面对的塞车之苦已完全消除。

        首相明午3时也将会为坐落在比南利路的砂拉越回教大厦主持动土礼。首相将在明晚返回都门，结束在本州的两天访问。

Starwood to manage Four Points hotel

KUCHING: Starwood Asia Pacific Hotels & Resorts Pte Ltd will manage the proposed RM100mil Four Points by Sheraton Hotel to be developed by Global Upline Sdn Bhd at Jalan Airport here.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had performed the earth-breaking ceremony for the hotel project yesterday.

The proposed 12-storey 300-room hotel, which is expected to be operational by Aug 31, is one of the three international standard hotels planned in Sarawak by construction company Global Upline.

The second 220-room hotel will be built at Jalan Tabuan here while the third hotel has been earmarked for Miri.

The proposed Four Points by Sheraton will form part of a complex which will also house an office tower.  

The hotel and office tower blocks will share a common three-storey podium, which will provide shopping and dinning facilities.

Global Upline managing director Datuk Mohamad Daniel Abong and Starwood Asia director Thomas J. Monahan signed the hotel management agreement.  

Daniel said the investments in the hotel industry marked Global Upline’s diversification into the hospitality service sector to cater for the expanding tourism industry.

“Our company has grown tremendously in the past eight years and has completed some RM1bil worth of infrastructure projects,” he said at the ceremony.

According to him. the airports and flyover projects that the company have undertaken are all delivered ahead of time, within budget and with high quality.

Asia Pacific Starwood Hotel & Resorts Worldwide Inc president Miguel Ko said the proposed Four Points by Sheraton Hotel would cater for both mid-scale business and leisure travellers.

He said Starwood’s portfolio of hotel company brands also included Sheraton, Westin, St Regis, W Hotels, The Luxury Collection, Le Meridien, Element and Aloft.

“The Four Point by Sheraton brand, with 136 properties in 16 countries, is consistently rated as a top performer in the mid-priced category by business travellers,” Ko said in his message in the souvenir magazine published to mark the proposed hotel ground breaking yesterday.

Four-star Four Points by Sheraton Hotel to have two 12-storey blocks with common 3-storey podium

KUCHING: Sarawak will have another hotel of high standard with the building of a world-class, four-star hotel, Four Points by Sheraton, at Jalan Lapangan Terbang.

The 12-storey, 360-room hotel, to be built with the co-operation of Starwood Asia-Pacific Hotel & Resorts Pte Ltd and Global Upline Sdn Bhd, is expected to be completed by August next year.

Global Upline Sdn Bhd’s managing director Datuk Mohamad Daniel Abong said building a hotel was the company’s new area of building expertise, which normally focused on building roads and buildings.

“This is one of Global Upline’s contributions in helping the government to develop the country’s economy besides providing employment opportunities for people specialised in the industry,” Daniel said at the management agreement signing and ground-breaking ceremony of Four Points by Sheraton here yesterday.

He hoped that the State government would continue to place its trust in the company because all the commitment and hard work of the company would not translate into good performance without the assistance, support, understanding and goodwill of the government ministries and departments at the State and federal levels.

“I hope the government would continue to place its trust in Global Upline, and be rest assured that we would deliver ahead of schedule those projects entrusted to us, and to the highest quality,” he said.

Senior vice president (acquisitions development) Thomas J Mohahan represented Starwood Asia Pacific Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Pte Ltd while Daniel represented Four Points by Sheraton at the signing ceremony.

Hotel Four Points by Sheraton will have two 12-storey building blocks comprising a hotel and an office tower. The two blocks share a common three-storey podium at Level 1, 2 and 3, housing the hotel operational and shopping facilities.

Level 1 comprises shops, restaurant, cafe-deli, front office, training room, business centre and supporting hotel and operational rooms, lobbies and facilities.

Level 2 will have function rooms, pre-function hall, lobby, meeting rooms, offices, accounting department and services room, while Level 3 is made up function rooms, meeting rooms, a specialty restaurant, salon, show kitchen, offices and storage as well as services rooms.

A major portion of Level 3 is devoted to health and therapy rooms such as gym, aerobics, spa and specialty treatment rooms.

Level 4 of the hotel block will have 43 guest rooms while Level 5 to 10 will have four units of junior suite with 35 rooms per level.

Level 11 consists of various suite rooms, connecting rooms and an executive lounge while Level 12 is made up of the owner’s executive office, suites and connecting rooms.

The podium also consists of two basement levels, which provide car parking spaces and also house some of the hotel supporting facilities.

A swimming pool and a wading pool are provided at ground level for recreational facilities.

Starwood signs First Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Malaysia

Starwood is expanding its Four Points by Sheraton brand in Asia Pacific with the signing of its first property in Malaysia, the Four Points by Sheraton Kuching, Sarawak, which is scheduled to open in early 2009.

The Four Points by Sheraton brand was introduced to Asia Pacific a few years ago with hotels in Sydney, Geelong, Shenzhen and Chung Ho, and now has grown to a portfolio of 15 hotels, including 6 which are in operation and 9 under development in China, Cambodia, Vietnam and now Malaysia.

"We are thrilled with the signing of our first Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Malaysia. Kuching, the capital of the East Malaysia state of Sarawak, overlooks the South China Sea and is the fourth largest urban city in Malaysia.

相信不用18个月就可以完成了。

回顾一下目前在建设中及拟议中的酒店有 ：
1) Kuching Tower (JW Marriott) - 315 Rooms
2) Imperial Hotel & Apartment - 700 Rooms
3) Novotel Interhill  ...

还有Hock Lee Service Apartment （约有90间大小房间）即将在近期内完工。
