At the venue where One Direction had wowed a 60,000 audience 48 hours earlier the CenturyLink Field in Seattle wasn't quite as shoe-horned in to see which direction Louis van Gaal's new look United might be heading.

But United supporters will have been as happy with their heroes as those Harry Styles and Co fans were on Wednesday.

On a pitch that was sprayed green before the match and turf brought in at the last minute to cover the artificial surface beneath that had had thousands of screaming teenage girls on it two days before this was always going to be a hard one to judge Van Gaal's latest creation.

But when you are Manchester United you don't get much leeway and after an ￡80m summer splash fans were eager to see the squad hit the ground running.

And there was an instant pay off from the ￡24m the Reds sent to Southampton for Morgan Schneiderlin.

While the Frenchman's midfield partner Michael Carrick was off the initial pace and twice almost handed Club America a chance to take the lead, Schneiderlin took a hold of proceedings and dominated.

The 25-year-old's short and long passing game was immaculately impressive and the bonus of Van Gaal's decision to buy some height this summer paid off in the fifth minute.

A flighted cross from Juan Mata and Schneiderlin marked his debut with a looping header.

United's engine room has looked too powder puff and too often lacking in vision for a long time but Schneiderlin's combination of silk and steel looks a winner.

Louis van Gaal's decision to play one XI for the first half and change it completely for the second in Seattle meant the match up of the Frenchman and German Bastian Schweinsteiger as a probable future axis of the midfield is a treat yet to come for Reds supporters.

The man who used to boss the centre for Bayern Munich strolled through this one against the Mexicans but he has class and presence that United's middle has lacked.

Obviously it is early days and only minutes on the board but at first look Van Gaal has identified problem areas in the Reds ranks and his wish list has been supplied by executive vice chairman Ed Woodward.

Right back Matteo Darmian and winger-cum-striker Memphis Depay will fly onto San Jose feeling like they've got their feet under the Old Trafford table pretty comfortably. The Italian and the Dutchman completed a decent start for the new quartet sending the bulk of the 46,857 crowd home happy.

因为上半场 Schneiderlin + Carrick，Schneiderlin 踢 6号时 Carrick 就稍微压上一点 (6-to-8 conversion)。中场失球权时Schneiderlin就冲前抢断，抢断失败的话Carrick已经回防（8-to-6），再组成第二波的拦截。哈哈！

基本上６号去８号，８号去６号的衔接都做得不错，但是８号去１０号的衔接乏善可陈，一方面是因为Depay被安排站在１０号位。
我觉得安排Herrera在10号位8-to-10的衔接会更好，那时中场甚至可能还会有三波的拦截。
