Here is the update.

Outcome of 1st Prius Hybrid Warranty Meeting on 21/10/2014 @ Citta Mall:

A total of 35 Prius & Prius C owners turned up for the meeting.

What is made known during this meeting is that there are at least 10 cases of HV battery failure, and 3 cases of inverter failure; most of them occured after the 3rd year (after warranty officialy expired).

Members consider this to be a very serious issue of which UMW must look into.

It was agreed that we will request for UMW Toyota to give what was offered by Borneo Motors Singapore - that is to extend warranty to all hybrid components for and additional 7 years, bringing to a total of 10 years.

This request will be made via a COMBINATION of these following methods:

1) A single official letter requesting for warranty extension signed by all concerned Prius / Prius C owners. This letter will be sent to the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Customer Service Manager of UMW Toyota. This letter will be sent by registered mail as well as fax.

2) Individual letters written by owners themselves. This letter can be emailed, faxed, or mailed to the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Customer Service Manager. The idea is to flood the mailbox with complaint letters so that they feel the gravity of the situation. A template letter will be prepared for members who choose not to draft their own letters.

The above strategy is Stage I Action. If UMW Toyota fails to attend to our request, we then move to Stage II Action - we have a Prius / Prius C owners' gathering in front of UMW Toyota while we call reporters from mainstream media and motoring magazines / blogs to capture our story. Videos can also be shot and uploaded onto Youtube.

If Stage II Action still fails - we then plan to move to Stage III - that is, we collectively bring our complaints to Toyota Japan.

The draft of the collective complaint letter, template for individual letter as well as contact information will be made known soon.

Can anyone confirm that Toyota Prius 1.8 and Toyota Prius C are using same electric ac compressor? We can do the Toyota Prius 1.8 electric ac compresser server in denso service center in bangsar?

你的是Prius 来的哦，他们的Prius C， 有些差别吧，你的马力比较大，重量也比较重
