* Frank Dileo, Vice President of Epic Records and later Michael's manager, persuaded Michael to release “Beat It” in the US while “Billie Jean” was still climbing the Hot 100. * The song “Ben” was originally intended for Donny Osmond, until lyricist Don Black suggested young Michael might do a better job of singing it.

LaToya Jackson has paid tribute to her late brother Michael in a touching tribute on her website.
In a post titled, "Mike, you will always be in my dreams!" she tells her brother (who died June 25 at age 50 after suffering cardiac arrest):
"Michael, after 50 years of waiting, God has finally called you home to do what you do best. He shared your extraordinary talent with us all for many decades and now it's time for you to spread your wings to a much higher level, which of course I know you will do, and join the other angels and give them an incredible eternal performance.
"Keep the angels smiling, Joker!
"I love you deeply and I can’t wait to see you perform again!
"Mike, you will always be in my dreams!"
She concludes by writing: "I LOVE YOU SO VERY! VERY! VERY! VERY! MUCH!"
