LCL Corp wins Asiamoney awardThe interior fit-out specialist is a favourite among small cap analysts and fund managers, Asiamoney says

INTERIOR fit-out specialist LCL Corp Bhd (LCL) has won the Best Managed Company Award 2007 under the Small Cap (Malaysia) category from capital markets magazine Asiamoney.
“We are deeply honoured to have received such a prestigious award that is regionally recognised,” said group managing director Low Chin Meng in a statement today.
The award resulted from the company’s successful expansion into India, the Middle East and Kazakhstan and made it a favourite among small cap analysts and fund managers, according to Asiamoney’s January 2008 issue.
The award is based on two main criteria - transparency and profitability. — Bernama

INTRODUCTION
LCL Corporation Berhad ("LCL" or the "Company") is pleased to inform that its UAE based company , LCL Interiors Contracting LLC , has on 8 January 2008 received a Letter of Award dated 24 December 2007 ("LA") from the main contractor, Arabtec Construction (LLC) ("ACL") as nominated by Zabeel Investments ( the owner of the Project ) for the design, supply and installation of Interior Fit-out works for Tiara United Tower, Dubai at a contractual sum of AED156,000,000 (approximately RM145,000,000).
DETAILS OF THE PROJECT
The Project shall commence immediately and it is expected to complete by middle of year 2009. The payment terms shall be an initial advance payment of 25% and subsequent payments are the monthly progress claims based on certification of work done . The Project was secured through a normal tendering process. The said LA is available for inspection at the registered office from Monday to Friday between 9 am to 5 pm.
FINANCIAL EFFECT
The Project is expected to enhance the earnings of the Group but does not have any material effect on the net asset per share, gearing, share capital and substantial shareholders of the Group.
APPROVAL REQUIRED
The Board of Directors, after due consideration, is of the opinion that the Project is in the best interest of the Company. The Project being incurred in the ordinary course of business, is not subject to the approval of the shareholders or any relevant authorities
DIRECTORS' AND MAJOR SHAREHOLDERS' INTEREST
None of the directors or major shareholders or persons connected to them have any interest, whether direct or indirect in the Project.
