Matang Highway

Project Objectives
The principal objective of this project is to construct a feeder trunk road that will provide free-flow access to the new Federal Administrative Centre in Matang, Sarawak, 20 kilometres northwest of Kuching.
The proposed Matang Highway commences on the east bank of the Rayu River. It connects the Federal Administrative Centre and Kuching City via a 2-lane, dual-carriageway road.

The highway will also serve as a primary distributor road to the northwest region of Kuching. Therefore, its introduction is expected to enhance agricultural and tourism development in that region.

Construction of this highway commenced in July 2002 and is targeted for completion in May 2007. Upon completion, the road will enable direct Kuching-Lundu access, thereby relieving congestion on the existing Matang Road.

Contract Details
This RM314.6 million project covers the construction of a 2-lane, dual-carriageway road, a gateway bridge over the Selang Rambungan River and a minor bridge over the Matang Sebubut River.

University Sarawak Malaysia (UNIMAS) New Campus

This project involves the construction of 23 buildings – some of which up to 8 storeys – covering a gross floor area of approximately 250,000 square metres.
The UNIMAS project site is accessible via the Kuching-Serian Highway, the Jalan Muara Tuang distributor road and the Kuching-Kota Samarahan Expressway. This RM750.2 million project is targeted for completion in June 2005.

City Bridge Commercial Centre

Following the successful completion of the Tun Salahudin Bridge, the second bridge that links Kuching City North and City South, Zecon Properties Sdn Bhd (ZPSB), a wholly owned subsidiary of Zecon Engineering Berhad, has taken a leap forward and developed this unique commercial complex a short distance away, to the south of the bridge.

Located in the southeast region of Kuching, City Bridge Commercial Centre is strategically linked to the administrative hub of the Sarawak State Government in Petra Jaya, the Demak Laut Industrial District and the Central Business District of Kuching.

This project, in its entirety, will be developed in twelve phases. Phase One, which has duly completed, offers 54 units of office and retail spaces. This 6-storey commercial building occupies a total built-up area of 11,699 square metres, of which 7,240 square metres have been developed for offices.


This commercial building is developed with built-in IT infrastructure to cater to the increasing demand for high speed Internet capabilities. It features a range of commercial facilities to enhance the development of lifestyle business opportunities such as shopping centres, dining and entertainment outlets.
The remaining eleven phases will feature a 4-storey, 8-storey and 12-storey block among developments of various other scales. Works on these are awaiting commencement. When fully completed, the complex will boast a remarkable 310 total units of condominiums, office, dining and commercial spaces.

呼~!楼上这位仁兄一口气发了三个新发展计划,谢谢你啊。

大概说明一下:马丹计划建设高速公路、UNIMAS目前的建设情况、南北市大桥连接、北市将建设更多的购物中心等等计划。

到时砂劳越河将成为真正的黄金河流,两岸地带更是黄金三角。

满足中低收入者需求,五万房屋明年起兴建

  (古晋10日讯)州政府正策划,以便在明年开始的第九大马计划下,在全州各地兴建5万所各类型房屋,以满足州内低收入和中等收入人民的需求。

  州房屋部长拿督斯里阿邦佐哈里披露,政府也计划兴建两千单位的廉价组屋,专门出租给合格者。

  他重申,政府十分重视州内的木屋区问题,希望通过上述的努力,建造更多的廉价房屋出租或出售,以便能有效的解决,或最少能纾解木屋区问题。

  “我是从现实的角度看待问题,我认为非法木屋问题是无法全面根除的,但把问题减到最低,我们应该做得到!”

  不过他进一步的强调,本州的木屋区问题与过去比较,已获得了大幅度的改善了,政府通过兴建廉价房屋和拨给土地,已使许多的木屋居民获得安顿。

  部长也证实,政府目前正收集州内木屋区的资料。根据初步的统计,本州目前共有一万所非法木屋,主要是在美里、诗巫、古晋和民都鲁。本州的木屋区居民都是本地公民,并以乡区涌入城市谋求生计者为主。

  他坦言,虽然政府兴建了许多的廉价房屋与组屋,但都是距离城市中心较远的地点建造。

  建轻快铁适宜性调查

  除了建造更多的廉价房屋,州政府也在古晋展开了兴建轻快铁的适宜性调查,以改善城市和附近地区的公共交通。

《社论》引进现代化交通系统

  随着人口增加,路上车辆增多,本州城市地区交通阻塞问题,渐渐成为影响民生的重大课题,这个问题不解决,城市发展再快,高楼大厦建得再多,还是不配称现代化城市的。

  本州发展比西马慢,特别是交通系统尤其显著,个中原因很多,包括地形限制和拨款不足,要全面发展,存在客观难度。然而,当国家积极迈向先进国宏愿之际,本州需要快马加鞭,以缩短鸿沟。

  就交通问题的范畴看,本州主要城市的交通网尚算完整,各地居民可以自由往来,可是,一条由南到北畅行无阻的高速大道,迄今还无法建起来,人民仍旧无法享受到交通上的便利。

  本州城市地区交通阻塞问题,由来已久,近年出现恶化的趋势,很值得各有关方面深入探讨。

  在过去,交通阻塞问题主要出现在上下班高峰时段,历时不长,市民尚可以接受,然而,现在汽车排长龙的情况,在非高峰时段也出现,至于上下班时段,更是加倍严重,道路使用者懊恼不已。有时小小一宗车祸,也会导致原本十分顺畅的道路,出现不必要的阻塞,浪费人们的时间和精神。

  这些情况的出现,在在显示本州交通问题,已经到了一个非解决不可的严峻境地,其迫切性远超过一般民生课题。

  古晋是本州首善之区,人多汽车多,交通问题也排第一,市民每天花在路上的时间,已经比过去高出许多,同样的距离,需要更长时间才能到达。这虽然是发展过程中不可避免出现的情况,但无可否认的是,交通阻塞问题确实已经对城市发展形成巨大压力。

  在现阶段,单是古晋省就有人口五十多万,如果加上三马拉汉省的廿多万,这个过去统称为第一省的地区,就有七十多万人口。正如本州房屋部长拿督斯里阿邦佐哈里所预测,随着经济蓬勃发展,晋汉省人口极可能在未来五到十年内,增加到一百万,现在道路阻塞已经司空见惯,将来的情况可想而知。因此,部长建议政府策划更完善的运输系统,包括推行轻快铁计划,以应付长远的需要。

  对于拿斯里阿邦佐哈里的看法,我们十分认同,由于时间紧逼,政府确实需要对公路系统的调整作出迅速反应。

  实际上,无论是州还是联邦,并没有停顿在本州的道路建设,不但增建新路,许多路段还加以扩充,成为双线道,架空大道也是一座又一座的建起来,然而,政府的这些努力,远远赶不上交通工具激增的速度,交通阻塞问题只是缓了一缓,很快又重新浮现出来。

  这说明了过去那种头痛医头的策略已经过时,解决交通阻塞问题,不能老调重弹,一味的在道路面积和普及性上动脑筋。政府有必要考虑引进现代化的公共交通系统,就如轻快铁计划,无论是速度、安全、方便性和舒适度,都比乘搭私家车或巴士占优势,我们相信,市民如果有更佳选择,路上的交通工具必然减少,公路阻塞问题将得到根本性的解决。政府在实行这项计划时,可以鼓励公共运输业者合作投资,或将轻快铁路线不及的地方,划归公共运输界去经营,一举多得。

  不要让交通阻塞问题成为发展的拌脚石,我们希望看到政府的积极行动。

Sarawak Mulls LRT System For Kuching

KUCHING, Feb 15 (Bernama) -- The increasingly congested roads in Kuching city have prompted the state government to consider introducing a light rail transit (LRT) system.

However, it was not easy to be implemented, said Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister's Department (Urban Development) Datuk Alfred Yap Chin Loi.

"Based on a public transport study we have undertaken, the plan is not easy to implement as the cost is high but we are lobbying for federal funds to do it," he told reporters at the Chinese New Year open house hosted by the Stapok Branch of the Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP), here Tuesday.

To reduce traffic congestion in the city, the state government was also considering a plan to build pick-up and drop-off points for taxis in certain localities, he said.

"This is one of the measures we are considering but we have to study its implication. The point is to discourage hire cars from going into the city center by restricting them to certain pick-up and drop-off points," he said.

He said the proposal came from the Commercial Vehicles Licensing Board and had been discussed with both the Kuching Utara City Hall and Kuching Selatan Municipal Council.

The system was also expected to overcome the problem of lack of parking space in the city, he said.

Yap said the state government also planned to develop more satellite towns to prevent overcrowding in the city.

"With the development of such areas, people do not have to come to the city to get daily necessities as such items can be obtained in their locality," he said.

He said several areas, which had potential to be developed as satellite towns were Batu Kawa, Matang, BDC, Batu 7, Batu 10, Batu 17 and Siburan.

其实这不算多啦,按时间算的话不是很多,因为有些是长期计划,有些则有时间规定。。。

还有就是工程拖延的关系,使到现在累积更多的工程得完成的。

嗯。。。对了,1/2/3页贴的发展帖子我会不定时更新在最顶页,请大家留意下最高楼。

有誰可以放放KIA的建築藍圖或者構想圖?
今天去機場送機,聽人說現在的停車場是暫時的,日後會敲掉,然後作main building
還看到他們在座高架橋,看來似乎模仿KLIA般有高架橋通向二樓哦
現今進入機場的馬路也會被除去,然後再馬路的對面開一條新路,真的真的..好大..
但進度好慢哦...希望陳伯勤不要讓我們失望...
