嫁进我hubby家前从来没吃过。。。
嫁了以后第一次吃家婆煮的就觉得很好吃,很喜欢吃~
so far在外面还没有吃过比家里煮的还好吃的咸茶~

All this work just to make the signature Hakka dish lei cha fan ($2.50).
Madam Pang Ah Kew, 67, was taught this recipe 50 years ago while growing up in her kampung.
Making the lei cha paste for the soup is a serious business.
'Lei', which means thunder, refers to the booming sound of pounding.
'Cha' means tea and 'fan' refers to the rice.
Every night for two hours, Madam Pang pounds pepper, tea leaves, sesame seeds, peanuts and the ku zhi xin herb to make the lei cha paste at home.
It becomes soup when hot water is added.
Ku zhi xin is picked from two giant pots that Madam Pang grows outside the Jurong East coffeeshop, where she sells her signature dish.
She explained in Mandarin: 'We used to grow it in the kampung, but now it's difficult to find.'
The lei cha fan taste is very specific, she said.
The dish consists of seven main types of vegetables and herbs which tops the fragrant rice.
The low-fat, low-cholesterol dish is said to be good for weight management and detoxification.
It is also said to help in reducing stomach wind.
The dish's ingredients include chopped shallots, chye sim, kailan, cai por (preserved radish), tau kwa (beancurd), long beans, nuts, and the mani vegetable.
What vegetable?
Madam Pang's customers often ask her this, so she grows some mani vegetables on a grass patch outside the coffeeshop to show them.
It's hardly sold here, and her vegetable supplier has to source for it from Malaysia.
The dish draws the lunchtime crowd at the Zhu Lin Eating House, at Jurong East St 31, which is just beside the market.
Between 11am and 2pm, fans can be easily spotted tucking into the dish, served in signature red and green bowls.
There are only a few such stalls in Singapore.
MOST AUTHENTIC
Some say Madam Pang's version is the most authentic.
Ms Lydia Kew, who works in a bank, is a regular customer.
Said the 43-year-old: 'The others have ingredients like dried prawns and are more oily.
'This stall serves the most authentic version. I drive from my office to have lunch here at least once every week.
'I like the soup because it's minty. But it's an acquired taste.
'But some of my friends say it reminds them of toothpaste.'

Tanjung Pagar 附近也有。。但味道一般。。。还是妈妈煮的好吃。。。。我还想不到还有酱多地方有卖。。。等我有空后。。我要去试试看。。。 |
