Johor Baru, 14 July, 2010 - THE newly-opened Ayukawa Grand Japanese and Italian Buffet Restaurant offers diners a choice of over 100 types of Japanese and Italian delights in a classy and cosy setting.
Located on Level 6 of the Zon Regency Hotel in Johor Baru, the outlet can seat 200 patrons, and is open for lunch from noon to 3pm, and dinner from 6pm to 10pm.
Restaurant owner Oh Chee Kiong said the pork-free restaurant is offering patrons a 10 per cent discount from now until September.
"Each table has steel pegs with the table number imprinted on each peg. Diners can walk around and check out the sample dishes. They make their orders by dropping the pegs into bowls which will indicate the dishes they want.
"The food will then be freshly prepared and served by the waiter," Oh said.
Among the popular dishes are beef tongue fried with chives, lamb chop, Italian seafood soup and soft shell crab.
"The Dobin Mushi -- a classic Japanese soup dish with mushrooms cooked in a small clay teapot with a small drinking cup -- is also a favourite among diners.
"Another signature dish is the 'apple sushi', where sushi is presented in the shape of an apple," he said.
Lunch is at RM38++, and dinner at RM65++ per person, from Monday to Friday. On weekends, lunch and dinner are priced at RM65++ per person. For details, call 07-223 8223.
