恩。。抱歉那时没看到你的回复。。
简单的来说。。

1. 我在imperia读了1年degree，也就是general degree。拿的文凭是英国heriot-watt的文凭。
2. 当初为了hons. degree 而来到英国这里读（1 年）。
3. 由于我选择继续读honours year，所以校方还没给我general degree的文凭，因为他们说，我只能有一张general degree 文凭或 hons. degree 罢了。
4. 所以，若我今年考不上hons. degree 的话，今年的毕业典礼会派general degree给我。

问题是，若我fail了hons. degree 而只能拿到之前读的general degree，那么我是否还能申请Tier 1 (Post Study Work) 呢？

根据您的情况，我无法断定您所拥有general degree是否被UKBA接受....
不过，据我所知，只要你的general degree是受承认的英国大学发出的，而您又曾在那所大学留学，那就符合了基本的申请条件了啊...
但如果您所拥有的general degree只不过是under imperia,而不是来自于英国那所大学的话，那就另当别论了....

恩。。那个文凭是这一间英国大学直接发的，并不会印任何imperia的字样。。imperia 只不过是这一件英国大学租来教学的地方。。

如果你拿的是GENERAL DEGREE， 就不能申请PWS。 因为PWS只收BACHELOR 或 POSTGRADUATE DEGREE。

Points Based System

The new rules also make changes to Tier 1 of the Points Based System for highly skilled workers. Applicants under the Tier 1 (Post-Study Work) route will no longer receive points for post graduate certificates and diplomas other than UK Postgraduate
Certificates of Education and those applying for their first period of leave under Tier 1 (General) will no longer receive points for Bachelors degrees or for previous earnings of less than £20,000.

The amendments to Tier 1 (General) were announced by the Home Secretary on 22 February. At a time of rising unemployment it makes sense to control inflow and be more selective about the migrants who come to the UK. This more selective Tier 1 policy will give the most highly skilled migrants (the migrants who make the greatest economic contribution to the UK) access to the labour market whilst ensuring that other skilled migrants can only enter under Tier 2, which is designed to ensure that migrants are only admitted for skilled work where there is nobody available within the resident labour force to fill the post.
The amendment to Tier 1 (Post Study) will also contribute towards this aim whilst ensuring that the UK remains an attractive destination for skilled migrants studying for a Bachelor’s degree. The removal of the post graduate certificates and diploma route from Tier 1 (Post Study Work) also responds to evidence of a high level of abuse of these provisions. However, we will continue to award points for UK Postgraduate Certificates of Education as there is no evidence of abuse of the qualification and students must meet robust requirements including mandatory previous qualifications in order to gain this qualification.

这个只说明不收Postgraduate diplome and certificate，但没说不接受bachelor degree吧？
对于大家说不接受general degree，我还是有些怀疑。我上网简略看了一下，没有明确说明general degree是不能的，只说大学必须受承认。我认为应该去问你的大学看这个degree是否受承认，以及它的level （diploma or degree or postgrad etc)，来确定是否符合PSW的qualification。

对了，若说要在英国打工的话，是不是一定要有PSW了才能申请工作呢？
还是说在visa到期之前，若有公司要请（及帮你申请working permit）的话就可以做工呢？

如果现在你在等着大学的成绩或者你已经毕业了可是你还拿着student visa，还没换PSW。。你可以开始申请工作了。visa 到期? 你是说着哪个visa？ PSW 吗？

原来你不知道什么是GENERAL DEGREEGENERAL DEGREE是那些考不到BARCHELOR HONOURS DEGREE的人可以拿的DEGREE。 看看以下的解说吧。。。

The General degree,unlike the Honours degree, is not classified according to the academic performance of students (i.e. 1st, 2ndor 3rd class).

A higher education qualification for the academically less able - to be called a 'general' degree' - has been proposed by the government's university standards watchdog.

As part of a 'clarification' of the qualifications system for higher education, the Quality Assurance Agency wants to create a separate general degree which would be tailored to the needs of students unable to achieve an 'honours' degree.

This would be introduced to universities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland - as Scotland already has an equivalent 'ordinary' degree.

The general degree would be particularly aimed at vocational and work-based courses and students who were taking a "step-by-step" approach to higher education.
The reformwould see the end of the 'pass' degree,which is currently given to students who fail to make the lowest level of honours degree.
