PM Lee’s wife apologises for Facebook post

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s wife Ho Ching offered her “embarrassed apologies” on Monday for posting a photo which people assumed was a response to the online feud between him and his sister Lee Wei Ling.
On Sunday afternoon, the same day that PM Lee took to Facebook to refute accusations from his sister about abusing his power and forming a political dynasty, Ho’s Facebook profile featured a photo of a monkey making a rude gesture.
People who saw the public post on her Facebook profile re-shared the post. It was also picked up by local parody page SGAG.

The photo was removed sometime on Sunday afternoon. Ho explained on Monday at 12pm, “Had been playing around with Twitter [yesterday], trying out different buttons, seeing what can or cannot be done.
“Discovered Twitter reposts pictures without captions, and unfortunately one of the pictures could be misunderstood on its own.”
She added, “There are enough troubles in the world. Far from adding oil to fires, I would prefer we try to solve and resolve problems, among friends, within families and between neighbours.”
The prime minister’s sister made headlines across the city state after she publicly expressed objection to several commemorative activities to mark the one year death anniversary of her father and Singapore’s first prime minister Lee Kuan Yew.

李显龙总理夫人何晶今早表示，就昨天（10日）在Facebook上发布的一张照片所引起的误会表示道歉。

何晶表示，自己是一名推特（Twitter）新手，昨天尝试使用推特上的不同功能。其中，她在使用一个转发功能后发现，从推特转发的照片，原有的标题不会显现。她说，“不幸的是，其中一张照片可能引起误会，一名朋友通知我后，就立刻把它删除。“

据悉，这张照片源自中国《人民日报》的推特，显现一只生气的猴子因为被摄影师所打扰，而向他做出不雅的动作。这张照片昨天出现在何晶的Facebook网页上，因此引起网友的疯传。

何晶今天说，这世界已经有许多问题，她的用意不是“火上添油”，她更希望看到，朋友之间，家人之间和邻居之间好好解决问题。她也表示，“我们都以不同的方式哀悼，并应该为每个人留个空间，从丧亲之痛恢复过来。”

何晶说，她尊重和非常感激许多真挚的悼念，也能理解一些人希望低调地缅怀。“希望时间能够愈合一切。”

总理李显龙的妹妹李玮玲医生昨天在Facebook上指李总理滥用权力，在已故建国总理李光耀先生逝世一周年之际，举办一系列追思活动，以“建立朝代”的指责。李显龙总理说，他对妹妹的指责深感难过，并强调这项指责完全不属实。

看来李医生是一个”绝对理想派“ 的人，为了维护其先父李光耀排斥”造神“的观念。
所以不能忍受其兄趋于世俗的政治做法，反感其有权却不制止甚至有推波助澜之嫌。
由于她太直白，表达方式有些地方会让相关的人很受伤。

Pls don't insult the intelligence of savvy new age peeps, and insult yourself along e way.

I don't know which advisor of urs told u to post this statement. Contrary to what your supporters r claiming "tt u r bold enough to make such statements to the public as a form of explanation", it just goes to show how u conduct yourself as a public figure. This kind of conduct is passed down to your subordinates, ur husbands subordinates, etc. No one wants to b accountable for anything, and thanks to internet n social media, you guys r trying your best to catch up n cover up whatever its throwing at u. 根據新加坡《海峽時報》報導，李瑋玲週一在社交网站公開其與《海峽時報》編輯的來往電郵，何晶卻「幾乎」同時在本身「推特」戶口，上載一張猴子豎起中指的圖片，結果該圖片立刻被网民截屏轉發，並議論該圖片是否意有所指，是在回應李瑋玲的言論。

盡管如此，何晶今日在社交网站「面子書」上發表貼文，對本身發佈該張圖片表示「尷尬的道歉」。

隨后，何晶在貼文中表示，世界上已有太多的難題，因此與其火上加油，她比較喜歡嘗試與家人、朋友及鄰居解決問題。

她表示，每個人有不同方式表達哀傷，因此應給予彼此足夠的空間對逝去的人表達思念。她對各式各樣的悼念活動表示感激，同時對部分人士選擇以較有故事性的呈現手法表示理解。

她在貼文中說，希望時間能撫平傷痛，同時也祝福國人未來會更好。

最少有三种分享推特的方式，我也能做到没有注明的那一种。

Dispute with PM a ‘Singaporean matter’: Lee Wei Ling

SINGAPORE — Dr Lee Wei Ling has described her public dispute with her brother Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, over the commemoration of their father’s one-year death anniversary, as a “Singaporean matter”.

“I always try to stick by the truth and that’s all I’m going to say,” Dr Lee was quoted saying by the Wall Street Journal when the newspaper contacted her on Monday (April 11). She did not elaborate.

The dispute made international headlines this week after Dr Lee posted a series of email exchanges with editors of The Straits Times over a column she had written about the death anniversary of founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew.

In one of the emails posted on Sunday, which was later deleted, Dr Lee accused PM Lee of having “no qualms” about holding commemorative events in order to establish a dynasty.

She wrote: “But if the power (sic) that be wants to establish a dynasty, LKY’s daughter will not allow LKY’s name to be sullied by a dishonorable son.”

PM Lee refuted his sister’s allegations that same day, saying he was “deeply saddened” by her claims and that they were “completely untrue”.

The dispute first began when Dr Lee took to Facebook to take issues with The Straits Times’ handling of a column she had written, which criticised the commemorative events as excessive. She claimed that she was denied her freedom of speech.

The newspaper has refuted her accusations, with its Associate Editor Ivan Fernandez disclosing that Dr Lee had plagiarised other writers for parts of her column.
