Club Brugge’s new signing Dion Cools was on target and helped his team to enter the European Champions League play-offs after winning their respective third-round qualifiers on Wednesday.

The Belgian Pro League side overturned a first-leg deficit to oust Greece’s Panathinaikos from the competition with the Belgian-Malaysian defender providing one goal and an assist to deliver a 3-0 victory and a 4-2 aggregate success.

“I’m happy to contribute my part in the Club Brugge’s success in Champions League campaign,” said the 19 year-old Sarawak-born after the game.

“Actually I was suprised to know that my name was included in the first team squad. That encouraged me to prove that the coach didn’t made any mistake to put his trust in me.”

Dion, who has already represented Belgium U-19 at international level, is eligible to represent Malaysia through his mother heritage and previously has revealed his desire.

“It would be an honour for me to play for Malaysia,” he said. “I’ve actually asked my mother if the possibility is there, but realistically I will need to advance my trade here in Belgium first.”

据每日邮报消息，如果曼联在欧冠附加赛中击败比利时球队克鲁日，他们将在本赛季的欧冠联赛上最多获得1亿英镑的收入。
由于观众人数和转播费用的大幅度提升，战胜比利时球队对于曼联来说尤为重要。
晋级欧冠小组赛曼联将拿到853万镑，每一场胜利将给他们带来71万镑，每一场平局也有36万镑。
如果范加尔的球队进入16强，将额外获得391万镑，进入8强将获得426万镑，而进入半决赛的话，曼联将拿到498万镑，如果最终进入决赛，他们还可以获得746万镑，拿到冠军则可以获得1066万镑。
除去奖金，英格兰俱乐部将从转播上拿到巨大收入，BT SPORT和欧足联签订3年8.79亿欧元的合同比之前天空体育多出一倍。大部分参加欧冠的英格兰球队可以在这方面收入7800万英镑-9300万英镑。
