花小钱(保险费)，买安心(理赔金)，以小搏大。注意：是花小钱买「安心」，不是买「平安」，保险无法消除风险，只能缓和风险发生后的不良影响，使你感到比较安心而已。所以保险是一种「消费」，因为你定期交保费，但希望不会用到理赔金。消费使你的财富不断减少，而投资的主要目的却在于使财富能不断增值，因此对消费者来说，保险与投资两者基本上是相反的概念。 |

KUALA LUMPUR: Tune Money Sdn Bhd, the one-stop online financial services company belonging to Tune Group, is now offering Tune Travel Insurance Plan for both leisure and business travellers.
The insurance plan is available in two options. The Single Trip Plan is ideal for non-regular travellers who travel on a short-term basis, while the Annual Plan is targeted at those who travel frequently, said its CEO Joyce Lai.
"Tune Money is one of very few financial service providers that offers an annual plan for travel insurance. Employers will find Tune Travel a very practical and economical travel insurance product for their executives criss-crossing the globe as we offer very competitive rates," said Lai in a statement today.
Tune Travel Insurance is underwritten by Tokio Marine Insurans (Malaysia) Bhd and is available for air, sea and land travel.
Lai said that from RM200 per person, the Annual Plan offers travellers an unlimited number of trips per year with a maximum number of 90 days per trip. The premium varies depending on geographical areas of coverage.
For the Single Trip Plan, premium starts at RM33 per person and offers up to 180 days of travel per trip.
She said that in addition to the normal travel-related inconveniences, the insurance plan also covers death or permanent disablement, medical, surgical and hospitalisation, compensation for loss or damage to home contents due to fire or burglary during the travel period and personal legal liability to third parties for injury, and loss or damage to property during travel.
"Many Malaysians take insurance coverage for granted; thus, we see a very low penetration rate — especially voluntary coverage like travel insurance — among the younger generation. Our attitude towards insurance should change, and we should start it young," she said.
Tune Money was set up in 2005 as a one-stop financial services company that offers affordable prepaid cards under the Visa brand name and insurance products.
Tune Money plans to offer insurance and takaful products for hospitalisation and surgical, life and pets starting this year.
Apart from online insurance products, Tune Money also offers prepaid Visa cards called Tune-In and Pulse cards.
