是不是minor econ比较容易应付external paper......

我那年进的时候都好像没有这样的东西了。我看到的statistics课程是已经fix了。都是选修一些Faculty of Science& Technology(FST)的课（就都是science的）。选修FST以外的只有一课。(除非你自己要读超出所定的学分。也有一些朋友的确是这么做。)
Economics...不管你是读stat,math还是act. science，都得修这课！（这是必修！）
Economics的学分也是受承认并能转换SoA的VEE credit.（也不管你是读stat,math还是act. science）
（在UKM，另外的能转换SoA的VEE credit - kaedah statistik,permodelan statistik...也不管你是读stat,math还是act. science,都会念到的）

去年入学的，课程好像有些变动。我只看过Actuarial Science的，没看到Mathematics和Statistics的新课程表。

看你的成绩嘛...如我一位读IT的朋友所说：“成绩好就吃香啦！！成绩差就吃草啦~“
只要你有本事，读什么科系都能成龙！若你能力不足，再抢手的科系，你最终还是会被淘汰...

P.S.:Wall Street偏爱读统计学/数学的毕业生...你可以尝试去了解原因~

我也是觉得有没有好的工作都是看自己。。
如果成绩考好的话有没有机会转到actuarial science？？
请问你也是读这些科的吗？？
我也想知道多一点。。因为看起来这种选择是比较难走的路
想了解更多。。

是的，Statistics学生也是可以的。只要符合资格。

SOA有3个VEE credit：

• Economics
• Corporate Finance
• Applied Statistical Methods

要拿到VEE credit的方法：
-只需读过受承认的大学/学院课程，并拿到指定的成绩（通常是B-以上），而且已经通过最少2张Actuarial Exam，就能申请了
-考standardized exam，比如：NEAS，CFA....（还有很多...）

可以参考：http://www.soa.org/education/exam-req/edu-vee.aspx

当你符合资格了，填张表格再附上你的有关成绩，还有汇票，寄过去就行了。

decide what you want to be first then choose course..if you really want go into actuary field..

apply actuary sci if you cant get local U, Utar also a good choices to enter actuary field course
there is no way you switch to actuary degree as if your course is stat or math..

however you can take and learn SOA paper yourself with stat or maths degree too..but that is way tough if you cant get in local U actuary course try seek other University that offer the course too...

i got 2 UTAR old school mate..

1 excel and get few papers of SOA and now working as actuarist
1 fail to pass the SOA paper but with actuary degree he fail to find any job related to actuary

对了,wallstreet偏爱读数学的我懂原因。

因为：读数学的会比别的拥有更好的逻辑思考，不信的话，去看下咯。

也因为这样，除非懒到不行的，不然不用吃草的。
要吃香嘛？去买元宝蜡烛不就行了？哈哈

其实还蛮懒惰的，上大学了就不可以像以前这样了咯。。

I got 2 friends took statistic at UM
and i from UKM

At UM they can choose their specific course they want..
at UKM you cant

UM exam more to write and very less practical comapred to UKM
UKM got lots of type of assignment not only statistic stuff so as stuff like business, financial, econ, english speaking, etc

I do feel UKM statistic students is much much busy compared to UM students

怎么说嘛？UKM 的数学科都会比其他得来的难。在这些科系以first class毕业的会比较少。dean 自己说的，不是我乱乱篇的。
所以嘛,就会比其他大学难咯。想好好才选咯，别后悔

我虽然不是数学系学院的学生，我是教育系主修数学的。我有很多课是和数学系的一起上的。数学系以teori为主，较多在proving 及需要很多思考。要挑战的话可以来试试，精算学在internal paper 由某个程度上容易过数学系。

我想请问，
1。如果从matrix进ukm的，是不是一定要考4分呢？？
2。为什么比起acc的学生，sc的学生会比较容易进呢？？acc的学生读的东西不是比sc学生读得更加适合读精算吗？？（因为我目前拿到matrix的sc course, 在考虑着要换去acc)
3。ukm的精算senior们觉得ukm的精算系如何？？讲师ok吗？？
