True. But first of all, if ur contractor is not honest, he can purposedly slow down the progress of the construction. U may be not losing money but u waste a lot of time supervising them. U will have to wait for 2 years instead of 1 year to finish ur house. Another thing is you will have to submit a proper plan of ur house to the miri city counsel (dunno if it is compulsory), and the plan has to be certified by a qualified architect. Take all this troubles into account, you will see y a lot of people prefer to buy houses instead of building their own. If u are gonna build a house in kampung then there should be no problem because mcc usually dun care that much. I may be wrong though.
