Technical Summary: EURUSD Trade Above The 1.4446/79 Level
Strength on the back of its past week gains saw EURUSD breaking above its strong resistance/range top at 1.4446/79 to trade as high as 1.4545 today. That has resumed its corrective recovery from the 1.4216 level and increased the risk of further upmove towards the 1.4625 level where we expect a cap. While the pair trades below the mentioned level, its short term trend triggered of the 1.5139/43 level remains to the downside. GBPUSD also followed through higher having closed higher on Friday with strength putting it above the 1.6109 level today. We are wary of this recovery and while the pair trades and holds below the 1.6234/39 level, its current strength looks to fade and turn it back down towards the 1.5830 level. AUDUSD remains biased to the upside nearer term following its recovery off the 0.8733 level. However, it must decisively break and hold above the 0.9321 level to continue that corrective recovery and target the 0.9404 level. USDCAD continues to face downside pressure closing lower the past week and following through lower in early trading today. It was seen backing off lower prices during the US session suggesting a corrective bounce may be shaping up. EURGBP was seen trading almost flat at the time of this analysis as price hesitation saw it giving back most of intraday gains today. It is still trapped in its range. EURJPY was seen reversing its Friday losses today strengthening to as high as 134.36. This has kept upside pressure towards its key resistance standing at the 134.53 level while USDJPY continues to trade below its recent high at 93.74 and within its weekly channel resistance. This price action leaves immediate risk to the downside.

EURUSD: Sells Off, Looks Beyond The 1.4216 Level.

EURUSD: With a follow through lower on its Tuesday sell off  seen in early trading today breaking firmly below the 1.4262 level, its Jan 08’10 low and testing a low of 1.4182 in early trading today, EUR looks to convincingly crack the 1.4216 level(though trading below there at the time of this analysis) level and resume its short term declines towards the 1.4176 level, its Sept 01’09 low. A clean penetration of the latter will create further bearish tone towards the 1.4044 level, its Aug 17’09 and subsequently its big psycho level at 1.4000.Its daily RSI is bearish and pointing lower suggesting further weakness. However, if recovery initiative is triggered, the 1.4262 level will be targeted at first followed by the 1.4446/79 levels, its Aug 05’09/Oct 02’09 lows where a cap is expected to turn the pair back down again. Further out, resistance is located at the 1.4625 level. On the whole, having maintained its bearish tone and broken below the 1.4262 level, threats remain for a decisive break of the 1.4216 level and then 1.4176 level.
