Tan Kok Guan tipped to be new CEO of Lonpac

THERE will be a few key senior management changes at Lonpac Insurance Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of LPI Capital Bhd.
Lonpac director and chief operating officer (COO) Tan Kok Guan is tipped to be the next chief executive officer of the company.
He is expected to take over the reins from Tee Choon Yeow, who is believed to be retiring; but the latter would still be active on both LPI and Lonpac boards.
Former Hong Leong Assurance Bhd chief operating officer (general division) Looi Kong Meng would, in turn, fill the position vacated by Tan as Lonpac's new COO.
It is learnt that the company was awaiting approval from the relevant authorities before the proposed appointments could be made official.
A source told StarBiz that the appointment of Tan was seen as a well-planned move.
The company had been focussing on succession planning for a few years now in view of the shortage of professional talent in the industry.
He added that the move was also seen as good corporate governance which the group had been practisiing over the years.
The initiative, he said, boded well for the company. The group has been on an aggressive expansion drive as the potential appointees are all experienced insurers with good track records.
LPI recently said it was keen on capturing a slice of the insurance market in Vietnam and Laos by capitalising on the potential business from Public Bank Bhd's (PBB) existing clientele in the Indochina markets.
Banker Tan Sri Teh Hong Piow is currently the major shareholder of PBB and LPI.
Tan, 51, was appointed to the board of LPI on Oct 29, 1996. He joined Lonpac as deputy general manager in 1994.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Science (hons) from the University of London and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Hawaii.
Tan is also a chartered insurer of the Chartered Insurance Institute at London and an associate of the Malaysian Insurance Institute.

今天以RM11.80的价钱卖出我的LPI。决定卖出的理由是：
1. 想感受股票获利的感觉；
2. 想多一点现金在手。
对我来说LPI还是一样，是好公司，希望将来还有机会在投资她。

请问各位，
LPI给的股息是属于31/12/2007结束的财政年的，可是是在2008年发出。这股息是算2007还是2008年的收入？ |

Tan appointed Lonpac CEO
KUALA LUMPUR: LPI Capital Bhd has appointed Tan Kok Guan chief executive officer (CEO) of Lonpac Insurance Bhd, succeeding Tee Choon Yeow effective April 9.
