KUALA LUMPUR, June 23 (Bernama) -- Top Glove Corporation Bhd, which recorded 81 percent increase in its pre-tax profit for the third quarter ended May 31, 2009 is confident of securing even higher profit in the forthcoming quarter.

The world's largest glove manufacturer posted a pre-tax profit of RM54.338 million for the third quarter, higher than the RM30.008 million recorded in the same quarter last year.

Revenue rose to RM371.965 million from RM356.139 million previously.

Its chairman, Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai attributed the continuous growth to a large customer base spread over more than 180 countries and its comprehensive range of glove products.

Currently serving more than 850 customers globally, Tan said the group planned to start construction of its 21st factory in Klang this August.

Its other facilities include 13 in Malaysia, four in Thailand and two in China with a total of 355 production lines.

The group's 19th factory in Klang started operations in early June and this facility has 16 new and advanced glove production lines, Tan said in a statement Tuesday.

Meanwhile, its factory number 20, which has been completed also will be installed with 16 new and advanced glove production lines by next month.

The installation is expected to be completed by February 2010.

Top Glove's orders up 30pc on flu pandemic

MALAYSIA'S Top Glove has seen its revenue jump as much as 20 per cent in the last two months as orders jumped by around a third due to the global flu pandemic, its chairman said today.

Echoing a forecast made by Malaysia’s No. 2 rubber glove-maker Supermax last week, Top Glove said it is finding it difficult to fulfil orders because of overwhelming demand despite ramping up its output to near capacity, Lim Wee Chai told Reuters in an interview.

“Our sales have increased by around 10 to 20 per cent over the past two months. Orders have increased by about 30 per cent but we are not able to deliver all the orders,” Lim said.

Top Glove, which is the world’s biggest glove-maker, can produce more than 30 billion gloves a year at its factories in Malaysia, Thailand and China. The factories are running at more than 90 per cent of capacity, Lim said.

The last time the company operated at full capacity was during the SARS outbreak in 2003, Lim said.

The Klang-based company sells gloves in 180 countries.
Europe and North America, the two regions worst affected by the H1N1 flu virus, are its largest customers, making up more than two-thirds of its total sales.

Lim said the unusual strong sales should normalise next year when the flu threat may subside, but he remains upbeat about the company’s long-term prospects as flu viruses are becoming more cyclical.

Top Glove, which held acquisition talks with various parties over the past one year, will focus on organic growth for the time being, said Lim.

The company is unlikely to announce a new acquisition over the next six months because it is safer and more cost efficient to build its own factories than taking over weaker rivals, he added.

In 2006, Top Glove paid about RM48 million for a 60 per cent stake in loss-making Medi-Flex.

Lim said Top Glove has taken longer than expected to turn around the Singapore-based maker of medical gloves due to Medi-Flex’s worse-than-expected financial conditions.

Shares in Top Glove were unchanged at RM6.50 a share although the wider market was up 1.52 per cent. However, shares of Top Glove have risen 86 per cent so far this year, outpacing the benchmark stock index’s gain of 21 per cent. - Reuters

今天到底发生什么事，为什么几支手套股都起得那么厉害?弄到我把几个收了3个月至半年的手套股都买了一半套利了，留下一半至少再起的时候不会暗锤。

问生意版主，你对下季财报后 、 或流感后的 topglove, 有什么策略
流感后，才是真正考验实力。
我觉得这次的流感危机，topglove 股价可能会创新高，就是 > RM 10.00

不才有收SUPERMX，今天表现也很不错一下。。
可是，早两年就亏死不才鸟。。
