Nokia Malaysia's Largest Concept Store Opens For Business
KUCHING, April 24 (Bernama) -- Nokia, the world's leading mobile phone maker, today opened its third concept store in the country and the largest so far to strengthen its presence in East Malaysia.
Nokia Malaysia's managing director Andrew Cheong said the store in Kuching shared the same features of the Nokia stores in New York and Chicago in terms of offering the latest mobile devices and accessories. "This new store underlines our commitment to the East Malaysian market and our customers here," he said at a news conference held in conjunction with the store's opening here today.
Cheong also said that Nokia was not ruling out the possibility of opening similar outlets in other states.
Occupying 1,200 square feet of retail space in The Spring shopping mall, the new store provides the convenience of a one-stop centre for the needs of Nokia mobile phone owners.
Apart from Kuching, Nokia has similar concept stores at the MidValley and Pavilion shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur.

KUCHING: Nokia Malaysia, which launched its first East Malaysian store in The Spring shopping mall here Thursday, is seeking partnerships to set up more stores nationwide.
Managing director Andrew Cheong said the company was always looking for opportunities to expand its business network.
He said Nokia Malaysia operated two other stores - in Jalan Bukit Bintang and Mid Valley - in Kuala Lumpur. The 1,200 sq ft Kuching store is the largest among the three outlets.
Cheong said the company had invested in Kuching as the state capital was ranked second in per capita income in Malaysia.
“The Kuching store shares some of the signature features of Nokia's Flagship stores in New York and Chicago,” he told reporters at the launch of the new store.
These signature features include product centre-pieces that allow customers to try the full range of Nokia mobile devices and a complete showcase of Nokia's portfolio of Nseries multimedia computers, business-enhanced Eseries devices, mobile phones and accessories under one roof.
Cheong said the Kuching store also featured an integrated Nokia CARE service centre.

Nokia’s largest store in M’sia opens at The Spring

KUCHING: Nokia launched its largest store in Malaysia with a total space area of 1,200 square feet which will also enable it to deliver an enhanced retail experience to customers in East Malaysia.
Nokia Malaysia Managing Director, Andrew Cheong said the new Nokia Store underlined its commitment to the East Malaysian market and to its customers here.
“Nokia Stores are now becoming centres where customers can discover new experiences as they become available and through this store, our customers here will enjoy the same privileges as those in KL,” Chong told members of the media at the launch of Nokia’s Store at The Spring here yesterday.
He said the new store at The Spring shared some of the signature features of Nokia’s Flagship stores in New York, Chicago and KL such as: product centre-pieces that allow customers to try the full range of Nokia mobile devices for themselves and the wide suite of experiences that they offer; complete showcase of Nokia’s portfolio of Nseries multimedia computers, business-enhanced Eseries devices, mobile phones and accessories under one roof with dynamic, original and distinctive spatial qualities.
The Nokia Store provides a whole spectrum of products and applications that enhance the usability of Nokia devices at the store. Products include music speakers, wireless keyboards, printers and personal computers, while applications include software for music, printing, gaming, presentation and mobile e-mail.
Additionally, the Nokia Store in Kuching also features an integrated Nokia Care services centre, providing consumers with the convenience of a one stop shop for all their Nokia needs.
“A large percentage of consumers’ purchase decision is made in-store, so through this store, users can determine which devices are best suited to their tastes and lifestyle and can make the correct purchase. We are providing users a retail experience where we want them to immerse themselves in the ‘touch and feel’ environment,” said Chong.
He said eight staff will manage the latest Nokia Store here with four of them providing services at the care centre.
“Our helpful staff are on hand to assist them every step of the way-whether they want to know how to browse the internet on their devices, how to sideload music, how to snap and wirelessly print an image or how to directly upload videos to their blogs without having to use the PC.
“Such experiences and more are possible today with Nokia devices, so our aim is to share all these opportunities with the users, will immediately feel the differences when they step into the new Nokia Store,” he said.
Chong said currently, Nokia is the top selling mobile phone in Malaysia and the world, capturing some 40 percent of the market share.
“With a simple-to-navigate setup, open doorways and low glare lighting, the store here provides a relaxed and satisfying customer experience.
“The high-tech display terminals and dedicated areas for imaging, multimedia, business and entry phones make it easy for customers to bring themselves up to date with the latest technologies and trends in the mobile industry. It really is all about sharing experiences,” he added.

(古晋24日讯)古晋首间,同时也是全马最大间的诺基雅(NOKIA)手机旗舰店,于今日在新欣购物广场(TheSpring)正式开业。
此间店面面积达1200平方公尺,属全马最大间的诺基雅(NOKIA)旗舰店,乃座落在新欣购物广场第二楼处,将为东马人民提供更好的零售服务,以及让民众亲身体验更贴身的服务。
作为马来西亚诺基雅(NOKIA)执行董事的张文强今早出席为此新店主持推展礼时称,该公司之所以会在古晋东马区开设此店,说明了该公司对东马市场及欲为客户提供更好服务的决心。
而此间设立在古晋大型购物广场(TheSpring)内的旗舰店,其特色可相比於设立在纽约及芝加哥的旗舰店。
客户将可体验及了解产品或配件的功能
透过此间旗舰店,客户将可亲身体验及了解各有关诺基雅系列电话产品或配件的功能,包括如何学习操作无线键盘、打印机、音乐软件、电邮等,同时,也设有综合性“照料”服务中心,提供客户相关诺基雅品牌一站式服务。
此外,张文强也指出,由于目前大部分客户欲购买相关诺基雅品牌的产品时,都未决定是否真正需要购买。
因此相信随着此间诺基雅旗舰店的开设后,将可让民众更了解各相关产品的功能,并亲身体验及操作,进而购买一个真正适合自己口味的产品。
这方面,张文强表示客户将可透过该店员在现场的协助,进而指导他们如何使用有关产品,包括下载音乐、如何拍照、如何使用无线打印机、如何直接上载影视及无需通过电脑等各功能,共同分享诺基雅产品各方面的知识及操作。
另一方面,张文强也说,处在全球领导地位的诺基雅品牌手机电话,目前其客户群在使用手机功能内的MP3、相机及上网功能方面,分别达到67巴仙、44巴仙及36巴仙,也意味着目前透过手机来采用MP3功能的客户群占最多数。
