写给TMNet有关P2P的投诉信,第7页164楼就是P2P的公告,如何投诉CFM?

Title: Did Streamyx Limiting P2P Bandwidth.

Greetings to you and I would like to make some enquiries regarding to P2P software.

The problems that I encountered are that stated as below:

1.        slow connection as the speed does not reach what expected.
2.        limited high speed time for P2P software

And these are the details regarding to the matters above mentioned:

1.        Slow Connection
This is the main problem that troubles me since the beginning of the February. Before February I have no problems at all using any kind of P2P software, only after this and the nightmare start haunting me.

As usual I use the P2P software to download my stuffs. The line is confirm stated to be slow and below 10KB/s. Sometimes even worse that it might reach ridiculous low, the connection is said to be stop at 0KB/s or sometimes you are lucky and you get around 5KB/s.

2.        Limited High Speed Time
This is weird as the high speed time can said to be very accurate. And what I have to say is that it is unbelievable precise. The schedule for high speed varies from day to day and from time to time. The speed for this period is then back to normal and this is exciting. And below is what I have found from I have observed.

20/03/06 from 8.00AM to 1.00PM
21/03/06 from 4.00AM to 10.00AM
22/03/06 Slow Connection all day long

As what I found and observed, I would like to make a wild guess that TMNet did limit P2P software for a certain of time. And the time is unpredictable. Is that true?

As to resolve above matter. Below are what I have done by calling the technical support from TMnet:

Steps I have proceed:
1.        Unplug the splitter to make direct connection to TMnet.
2.        Reset the modem.
3.        Remake the dialer as I was using the manual XP dialer.
4.        Disable the antivirus or the firewall.
5.        Reset the computer.
6.        Reinstall the P2P software and get the latest software from the website.
7.        Ask my friends to download same thing by using the same P2P software.
8.        Set in DNS accordingly.
9.        Close all programs which consume bandwidth such as Http/Ftp Downloader, Browser, Internet Messaging, Video Conferencing, Online Games etc so that only ONE P2P program using bandwidth.
10.        Reformat Windows XP

I have done all the things above and the connection is seemed to be unchanged. It is remaining slow.

Question:
1.        Is TMnet limiting P2P software bandwidth?
2.        If TMnet does not limit the P2P software bandwidth, what is the problem then?
3.        Can we use 100% of our bandwidth all day long?

Conclusion:
Point 1: Hardware and Software Confirm OK.
I have already make sure that neither my computer hardware nor software have problems. And you might say that the problem may origin from the server that I download from. What I have to tell you is that there is no problem with the server because I have net friends from different state can use the P2P software without any problem. And they are using Streamyx as well.

Point 2: HTTP or FTP Download OK, P2P EXCLUDED
Another point of interest is that, I have no problems using HTTP or FTP to download any sources.

Point 3: Are we supposed not to use our bandwidth 100%?
When I read this from The Stars News, as quoted as below:

“However, as much as we would like our netizens to enjoy the full benefit of
broadband, the truth is that Peer-to-peer (P2P) traffic is choking up
local broadband lines with 20% of users utilising 80% of the total
bandwidth.  Such applications are often left on all day so it uses much more
bandwidth compared to users who merely use the Internet to surf or
chat.”

I do not what exactly behind all these stuffs and I have no interest to understand them. I am not also willing to what steps you will take in order to make the bandwidth even better.
What I want is, please give back what I supposed to get from I have paid for.

Remark:
This statement is a bad situation for P2P user as the user may start to guessing whether TMnet is limiting the P2P bandwidth. I hope that you will answer it sincerely and please do not hesitate to bring the truth to consumer as they have the rights to know what exactly happen.

methods to manage this situation. Regretfully, this approach can easily be positioned as
unfavourable amongst our subscriber, and we're truly aware of this. However, please be informed
that such approach is nothing exceptional to what has been implemented by other, non local
broadband service provider.

Again, we apologise for the inconvenience caused and we thank you for your understanding and
patience.

我那边也是时常出问题....!!
喜欢喜欢就断线Disconnect、甚至到了某个时段就突然间完全接收不到....
一直连也连不回....
以前可以下载的东西,现在要用10倍以上的时间来完成下载甚至完全无法下载....
试听歌曲的时候,Buffering的时间愈来愈久....

实在是太扯了!!

虽然我家的是RM66服务,也不至于烂成酱呱!!

可能我的尝试是无徒,但是如果我们连尝试也不做的话,那我肯定的是,P2P没有光明的一天。

即使TMnet给的回复是好的还是坏的,至少我们也可得个“知”字。

否则,我们惟有在这里等待,等到花儿都写了的时候也都太晚了。

Beside me, many of my friends also facing the same problem .We very sure that this problem is NOT come from ourselve .

packages to cater for low-bandwidth users by the third quarter of this year.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we thank you for your
support.

加一条问题:
问为什么我们给66元不是应该给我们64kb/s是速度吗?(-70%也要44kb/s)
那为什么会说 20%的用户 用了80%的宽频????
你们是怎么计算的....

楼主不要抱太大的希望

人家说我们有宽频用已经很幸福,可是我觉得我们用的很辛苦
不好的,我宁愿没有拥有过

其实我觉得你在最后应该加上批评 TMNET 眼光短,只看眼前利益,不为长远打算。或者批评 streamyx 没有根据和用户签的合同,提供应有的速度。就算是把其中一种软件限速,也已经违反合同。

这个或许等他们承认了,再写。然后我们一起要求 Streamyx 对于违反合同上的条文,要求赔偿。

另外请看这篇,里面有一些之前我所提供的联络号码及电邮,也顺便 c.c 去给他们吧。

我也是觉得寄去ceo@tmnet.com.my 还有些期望,TM即然没公怖,当然cust care dept也就不被通知有关事实,就算知道也不敢讲,直接找大头那不可能不知道,只是认不认而已
