(A)Cost and Management Accounting system are primarily designed to determine the costs of operating identifiable sections of the business and the cost of outputs, products or services. The system thus represent a data bank that can be referred to and adapted to suit the needs of people throughout the organization.

The overriding benefit is the provision of valuable informations that can be used specifically to improve company performance.
As the newly appointed management accountant, you are required to:

State and elaborate the various ways in which informations derived from a cost and management accounting system may be used by management.

Outline and explain the various work of the management accountant in a typical manufacturing company

(B)Materials constitute a significant part of the manufacturing costs of an organization and therefore it is essential that proper control and accounting procedure be exercised in all aspects of the materials control system in the area of:
        -Initial ordering and purchase
        -Receipt of materials
        -Storekeeping
        -Recording of receipts
        -Classification and coding of materials
        -Pricing issue of materials from stores to production

In relation to the 6areas of material control system as above, you are required to explain and identify the various documentations needed and the resultant control procedures undertaken to ensure that materials purchased is the most suitable for the intended purpose of usage and cost-effectiveness.
