SIBLING DISCOUNT
Definition
• Sibling - one of two or more children having ONE or BOTH parents in common.
This does not include family members outside sibling relationship such as fostered,
step brother/step sister, god brother/god sister etc.
• Current students – TARC students who are studying in a full-time full-fee paying
TARC Certificate/Diploma/Advanced Diploma course.
DISCOUNT TERMS
The sibling discount covers 50% of the tuition fees for the 1st semester only ie May 2009
Semester. This sibling discount is not transferable to another student/sibling.
APPLICATION
Application is open from 18 May 2009 to 30 June 2009 and must be made on prescribed
forms which can be obtained from the Division of Admissions & Credit Evaluation,
Administration Block (A) or downloaded from the College website at www.tarc.edu.my
[Admissions (May 2009 Intake)] during the above specified period.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1. New students must have one or more siblings who are current TARC students who
will be studying in a full-time full-fee paying TARC Certificate/Diploma/Advanced
Diploma course in the May 2009 Semester.
2. New students must be registering for the FIRST time in TAR College and in a fulltime
TARC Certificate, Diploma or Advanced Diploma course.
3. New students must NOT be in receipt of the TARC Merit Scholarship, The STAR
Education Fund Scholarship, Nanyang Tertiary Education Fund Scholarship or any
other scholarships/grants given by other organisations.
4. If two or more siblings are enrolled in the same intake ie May 2009 Intake, only
ONE of them is eligible to apply for the Sibling Discount.
5. New students will NOT be eligible for the discount if their sibling falls under one of
the following categories:-
- completed the course but have outstanding unit(s) to resit/repeat
- repeating their year of study and not permitted to proceed to Year 2/Year 3
- on suspension from the course
- on deferment of study
- withdrawn from the course at the time of fee reimbursement
- is a TAR College or other organisation scholarship/grant recipient
APPLICATION OUTCOME
The 50% discount on tuition fee will be reimbursed by end August 2009. Students must
still be pursuing the course at the time of fee reimbursement.
The decision of the College shall be FINAL. Any appeal will NOT be entertained. |
