Senheng Electric Plans To Open 100 New Outlets This Year
SIBU, Jan 18 (Bernama) -- Senheng Electric (KL) Sdn Bhd, a leading electrical chain store operator, plans to open 100 new outlets nationwide this year.
The company expects to invest about RM20 million in the process, its managing director Lim Kim Heng said on Friday.
Speaking to Bernama after the opening of its 26th senQ Digital Station, a digital lifestyle concept store, its first in the state at Delta Mall here, Lim said the company now has 58 neighbourhood outlets, 24 Digital Station outlets and two specialty stores which specialised in retailing plasma and LCD televisions.
"We plan to open another digital store in the state in Kuching towards the end of this year. We have two so far in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, as well," he said.
According to Lim, Senheng is expanding to Sarawak because of the untapped market for its concept stores.
"We see that the people here like to buy high-end branded products. They have nowhere to buy them as most of the retail businesses are small and provide less comfortable space for consumers," he said.
On the latest Digital Station, Lim said Sibu was chosen due to its strategic central location in the state.
He said the store offered a comprehensive range of the latest consumer electronic and digital products, including televisions, computers, digital cameras and mobile phones, targeting monthly sales of about RM800,000.
To mark its opening, the outlet offered 500 units of electrical appliances ranging from hair-dryers, gas stoves, coffee makers to table fans at RM10 each.
