Resignation Problem

I have a friend who work less than a month (like just about 2 weeks) and he resign orally at the middle of the month (about 2 weeks before full 1 month), for the reason he is going to work at the company that he interview before which make him wait for the result until now. His then interview for another job vacancy and he have been employeed. However, the person in-charge say that the company need time to hire for another people to replace his position, so the person in-charge do not approve his earlier leave in the current month unless he work for full month, which is over the next month but my friend wants to quit in the current month. The form he fill when he is applying for the job does not state the terms for time needed to resign and the people in-charge to interview also do not inform about this matter. And can he get his salary for the total days he work even that he will not work for full month? Please help me to solve my friend's problem ASAP. He needs to resign in the current month which means he will not work for a full month and about the salary matter. Thanks in advance. (He works in the company's branch in Malaysia but not sure the HQ is in Singapore or Malaysia)
