Type | Announcement | Subject | OTHERS | Description | THE PROPOSED DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION, COMPLETION, TESTING, AND COMMISSIONING OF THE REINSTATEMENT WORKS OF LIGHT RAIL TRANSIT LINE 3 ("LRT3") FROM BANDAR UTAMA TO JOHAN SETIA | Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (“MRCB” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce that Setia Utama LRT 3 Sdn Bhd (“SULRT3”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of MRCB has been awarded the contract for the Proposed Design, Construction, Completion, Testing and Commissioning of the Reinstatement Works of LRT3 from Bandar Utama to Johan Setia (“the Project”) by Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (“Prasarana”) via the Letter of Acceptance dated 26 February 2025 for a fixed lump sum of RM2.47 billion.
The scope of the works includes the construction of 5 reinstated stations, the construction of 2 EV bus depots at Shah Alam and Johan Setia, supply of Light Rail Vehicles, construction of other related infrastructure work and system works, to be completed in 48 months from the commencement date.
The Project will contribute positively to the future earnings of the MRCB Group.
The Project will be exposed to the normal construction risks of materials price fluctuations. With its past experience and expertise, SULRT3 is well placed to mitigate these risks through its existing controls, measures and operational procedures.
None of the Directors and/or major shareholders of the Company and/or persons connected with them has any interest, whether direct or indirect in the Project.
