iPhone-Dev team has updated there redsn0w 0.9.6 to rc17, it’s available for download but there’s no updated information available on their blog. When asked, @musclenerd member of iPhone-Dev told that this update is just for “kernel hackers” there’s nothing new added in redsn0w 0.9.6 RC17. It adds few more command line options for “kernel hackers”, talking about the file size, this new version is just 1kb larger than redsn0w 0.9.6 rc16.
