SINGAPORE : The Land Transport Authority will be installing lifts at existing pedestrian overhead bridges next to six MRT stations.
It said this was in line with its ongoing efforts to improve barrier-free accessibility to major transport nodes.
The six pedestrian overhead bridges next to the stations - Aljunied, Bishan, Khatib, Kranji, Sengkang and Yew Tee - were selected following a detailed island-wide feasibility study.
Tenders for the retrofitting works will be called by the end of this year and the retrofitted pedestrian overhead bridges are expected to be ready from the third quarter of next year, with all being completed by 2013.
