To those who have High Blood Pressure (HBP),
Sorry for not be able to key in Chinese as it take few weeks for me to key in Chinese. If you think I against the condition here, you may discard my reply.
I just want to share my experience of HBP. I am now 39 y/o, I had been HBP for 3 years. At first my BP is terribly high which is 180@140. Since then i changed my life style, slept early and did more exercise (5 day a week), took less meat and salt, but i didn't take medicine at all. Every doctor found me condition would advice me to take medicine.
After two years, my BP kept in 150@100, no matter what i did and ate , my BP was not improved at all. By then i decided to get advice from doctor. My symptoms were:
1) Headache
2) Low potassium ( 钾)
3) always felt thirsty
4) Night urine (at least 2 times per night, some time may up to 5 times)
The reason i persist not to take medicine initially is that i was only 35-36, i am sure i will have kidney failure, impotent (if i take Betabroker something like that lah), diabetic and heart problem after 15-20 years.
That was 8 months ago, i went to government clinic to take medic. doctor gave me very light medicine 5mg (forget the medicine term). after take the pills for few months, doctor still found my BP was still not improved. Then i was transferred to GH for further analyse.
In GH, doctor also give me very light medicine but kept checking my blood result every month, my potassium still less than min. level and BP still 150/100. By that time, doctor advice me to admit hospital a night to collect my blood sample and sent it to Australia to analyse my hormone level.
After a month the result was shown that my hormone produced too much, which caused my BP high. hahaha ...荷尔蒙失调. It was good news and bad news for me. Good news is my HBP is not normal HBP to take pill until i die or side effect. Bad news was what's wrong my body and hormone???
Then i was asked to go for MRI checking. then waiting another month to do MRI scan and another month for result, finally (right before CNY this yr) it was really a bad news for me is that my right adrenal gland have a soft tissue which causes right adrenal produces too much hormone (out of control). My HBP is then confirmed as right adrenal adenoma. the solution is remove the whole right adrenal gland.
two months ago, i went for operation (considered major) to removed the whole right adrenal gland and admitted hospital for 5 days. Luckily the tumour is non-cancerous after lab test.
Today, my BP is 120@80, every thing back to normal, no thirsty, no night urine, potessium in range. My advice and suggestion to those HBP:
1) Are you below 40? if you are, please spend RM1K-2K to do MRI scan and full medical check up. find what is actually cause of your HBP. (This is advice from specialist as well for those <40 y/o)
2) Go to GH to check if you have time. reason is doctor not simply give heavy medicine. they would analyse you first before conclusion. Most important is you only spend RM5 each time and give you good medinice. Don't forget you are tax payer.
3) Don't be too upset, HBP/diabeti is not end of the world. everyone have hope to recover.
Good Luck and you may PM me, i am not doctor, but i am willing to share my experience.
