Length: 112' (34m)
Beam: 24' 6” (7.3m)
Type: Twin Screw Mail and Passenger Ship. Accommodation for 6 First Class and 70 day passengers.
Speed: 12 knots. Powered by two diesel engines producing 202 B.H.P. at 600 R.P.M.
Fate: Scuttled by the Royal Brunei Navy in 1992. Reason for scuttling is that no vessel bearing the Brunei royal name is allowed to be sold for scrap.
This colourful and sometimes challenging dive site was created by the sinking in 1992 of the former ferry The Bolkiah. The ship is still largely intact but is now covered with soft-coral growth and is home to a multitude of smaller bait fish, moray eels and spiny lobsters as well as, in the cabin behind the wheelhouse, a large resident lionfish and a territorial orange and white coral bream. Nudibranchs have also covered the wreck with their rose-like eggs so lovers of macro life will have their interest piqued as well. Being close to the shore, visibility can be challenging and tidal movement can create strong currents here.
